I think something that's interesting to bring up re: Tuck interview is that those who you are competing against... ARE interviewing. So if you're in admissions and all of these people made the effort to interview, you're going to remember them more and have more "data" points to pull from involving their candidacy. They can learn a lot from someone from an interview so if one doesn't have that in their file in support of their candidacy it's that much more difficult to get a 360 view of that person. It's very important at a school where they REALLY want to know every single individual.

Bottom line, every accepted applicant is interviewed either in person or by phone or by skype.

Agreed. If no interview by now, waitlist or ding.

Refurb, or any other current students,

Can you tell us what to expect this week as Nov. Round decisions are released? I think we all know that Tuck calls admitted students before the decision deadline at 5 p.m. on Friday. From what I can tell, calls usually begin a day or two before the deadline, but they could really begin at any time. Applicants who are WL or dinged learn of their fate online at 5:00 p.m. this Friday.

Can you tell us who makes the calls, the order of the calls, what time the calls begin and how late they're made, etc.? Also, given the size of the EA pool and the admitted applicants who deferred from last cycle, is it safe to assume that a WL is akin to a ding?

Thanks in advance for any insights you can share with us.

Hello, I just got back from Hanover. It's super freezing. Interview with 2nd year student, general questions (goals, why MBA, why Tuck, significant achievement, failure, leadership style...etc.)
Did everyone interview with a current student there? The interviewer was nice and cool! The interview was so casual (than formerly expected!).
I think I did it quite well. This was my first time for admission interview at US school. Am I too worried that i think it was quite easy?
Thank you everyone for such good information from this thread.

Good luck!

Someone from the admissions office makes the call. No idea on order probably alphabetic, but could be completely random. Everyone pretty much goes home by 5-6pm, so unlikely any calls after that. WL is not an automatic ding, not even close.

Don't worry. First, I think the interviews are meant to be casual and conversational. Second, I'm sure you did a good job and that is why it felt easy.

Thanks 5pm. Not sure what I did to deserve your praise, but it's nice nonetheless. Like most applicants, I've got my strengths and I've got my weaknesses. Hopefully the former will outshine the latter for the Tuck AdCom.

Good luck to you too.
