Can you also tell me how are the current job and internship placements going on for the international students of class of 2011 and 2012 respectively?
Will it be appropriate for me to call up and speak with CDO on the subject??
kalachashma, it's too early to answer your question. class of 2012 is just about to start their interviews for their summer internship starting this month. Class of 2011 - some secured jobs already (offers from summer employment; returning to previous employer as planned, etc) while others are still looking. In terms of listings for post MBA opportunities, people are finding a lot more opportunities compared to previous couple of years. Employers who may have not recruited for certain positions in the previous years are returning to campus (or even off campus)... International students specifically? Hard to tell this early. (not to mention, I don't know which of my classmates are international student on VISA, etc.) People who secured opportunities already (regardless of whether he/she is international or not) will easily disclose his/her post mba job to anyone who would listen, while people who are still looking - they tend to stay quiet.
Do not call CDO and say "I was admitted to YSOM for this upcoming Fall and I would like to find out how the international students are faring with their employment opportunities."
But what you can do is, you can contact CDO and say something like," i was admitted to YSOM for this upcoming Fall and I would like to receive more information on various resources available to international students like myself in terms of finding employment in US."
CDO staff does wonderful job in assisting current students with job opportunities. When you have small class every year, you get more individual attention compared to bigger programs.
