I think that when they say that R1 was more competitive this year, it is meant for the bunch of finance, bankers and consultants who were waitlisted or dinged in R1. I am not exactly sure how many pages back into this thread it is, but there is some info, links to articles, etc etc about this occurrence. So I mostly think that it was "more" competitive for people from these backgrounds than for people from other backgrounds, but overall, thats just a statistic and the process itself is as competitive as it has always been.

Emergency question! My interviewer didn't give me business card. I wonder how could i send a thank you note, do i have to??? thanks a lot!

Send it to the generic interview/adcom account ([email protected]) and put Attn: interviewer name in the subject line. The receptionist told me the front desk would forward those emails on to the individual interviewers.

If you call or email the receptionist, she'll tell you his/her name. She has all of that information recorded down.

Can anybody tell me when adcom will start to notify decisions? May 5th?
I am sure answer must be somewhere in previous threads, but there are too many pages.

99% sure it'll be on the notification day itself. For R2 adcom made it very clear that statuses would be updated around noon east coast time on the notification day, and I think my email arrived at 12:02 telling me to log in and check my status. I got a follow-up phone call from my interviewer a day or two later.

Yep, I think that was pretty standard for R1s and R2s. Just a quick congratulatory phone call and email from the interviewer rather than admissions director, since Dee isn't going to have time to personally call 900+ admits.

Nah, unfortunately I already used up a bunch of leave days over the last few months....ASW at Haas, Boston for HBS interview, 12 day trip to Hawaii, etc., so I couldn't afford to take any more days and still get off active duty on the day I want to get out.

Based on last year where Eileen said they accepted 5 or so before the Rd 3 notification date and based on Eileen's last e-mail where she said: "I anticipate that at the end of April, we will begin actively reviewing our waitlist. If there will be decisions made before the end of April, I will be in touch to let you know what to expect."

So Based on Eileen's e-mail sent out this morning, the wait list will see some movement in the weeks after May 5, so we will have to wait a little longer...

May 5 is decision day for round 3 people only.
