Any idea if it is good to apply for Round -3?

What's the general idea of having this round? to look for Only exceptional candidates, if any or what?

Can someone shed light on this? because with a 690/700 after taking lot of effort and applying if you finally realize that the Round-3s are esentially for very limited seats only for stellar profiles, it will be a joke of sorts

The 140 seats for the batch are almost equally distributed throughout the three rounds. So any person has an equal chance to get an admit if they apply to R3. The pros can be that almost all other applicants who were serious have already got admits in r1/r2 and then you have lesser people appying. The con is that all the people who did not get an admit to any of the colleges of their choice would potentially be appying.

Hi, IMO it's better to apply for any round(or R3 in your case) with full force rather than full 1-year wait. Depends on your situation. + R3 has been introduced this year only, so difficult to judge about overall probability. Be positive, your profile could be stellar too :) All the best!

I am also in your league, couldn't apply for R1 and R2 but all set/hopeful for R3.

Is this Really the case? I feel R-3 is an equalizer round. For eg, your class has too many IT folks, males, engineers etc etc.. use R-3 to bring in diversity, throw in some commerce or arts folks, throw in some females, throw in some weird career path fellows, get the picture? Maybe stellar GMAT scores won't be seen this time but diveristy bit will have more weightage in my opinion because there is no rational in having three rounds with equal seat distribution? why would anyone do that

R-1 : for early applicants
R-2: for those who missed the bus
R-3: diversity and inclusivity

Just my thoughts

Hey Everyone,

A couple of questions:

1. I sent my acceptance email to the IIMA and also submitted my commitment fees. However, I am yet to receive any acknowledgment from admission office regarding the same. Can others please share if they received any official communication from admission office post fees submission ?

2. Any official or unofficial group of students who got accepted?

Thanks,
Sahil

I would suggest checking the junk folder of your mail. I got the confirmation mail from IIMA web admin almost immediately. Otherwise, proceed as suggested by babumoshaaai to track your payment. You can also track by using the link for paying the commitment fee. On that page, you will see the option to track your payment at bottom of the page. Use your registered email id and reference no. for login details.

Yes. But a word of caution- Although you have an equally likely chance of selection, in R3 your profile would be compared with r1 and r2 profiles. Do apply with a very good application.

The application should not be a resume, it should be well-written and highlight key points from your profile. We have worked with individuals who didn't improve any other factors, but have received a shortlist in the next round only because they have improved their application.

However, it is usually considered essential to show some improvement in your profile before reapplying.

Regards,
Tridisha

Any idea when the decision on WL candidates will be taken?
Also, is there any group formed for WL candidates?
How many applicants are placed in WL from R1 and R2 combined?
