Hi,
To answer your queries:
1. The unbalanced GMAT should not be a concern. Gone are the days when people used to write the GMAT once in a lifetime, even the schools understand that. Performance on a test can vary - that's ok. Don't read too much into it. Submit your highest score (obviously).
2. Apply in R3. There's no flaw in the strategy. If you get an admit - you will save one year. Else you can always reapply.
3. Studying in US vs India - compare the costs vs benefits in your particular case. The criteria and aspirations vary for every individual. You can pivot to consulting at both the locations, given the preparation that you put in to achieve the goals. The business school has a role to play but your preparation and how you work towards it will be equally important.
Hope this helps!
I have 3 queries now, first, around the impact that my unbalanced GMAT might have on my candidature and, a follow up, whether applying in R3 might be a flawed strategy?. Third, I am ambivalent on studying in India vs studying the US, which might be better given my goal is pivoting into consulting and that I don’t have a financially sound background.

I have posted here before with a lower GMAT than the one I have now.
