Hi Roshan,
Below is my take on your profile:
GMAT: Average
Academics: Average (While your undergrad college is Tier 3, High GPA shows that you developed good subject matter expertise in your related branch of studies).
Work Experience: Average. You will have to distinguish yourself from the hundreds (if not thousands) of other software engineers who will be applying for the ISB CO23 cohort. Some of the potential ways to do this would be to:
a. Demonstrate the business impact of your work in the short and long run. Ex. if you have developed a system that would help M2M connectivity / improve performance etc.
b. Showcase some of the initiatives you took as a leader – the challenges you faced in the journey – how your overcame them - and what were the outcomes of those initiatives.
c. Bring across stories that are atypical of a conventional software engineer.
Extra Curriculars: Good. It does seem from the examples you have mentioned that you have contributed beyond work. While this shows that you have multiple dimensions to your personality, it would be better to highlight what motivated you to take up these initiatives, how will you pursue them in future, and how will you leverage some of these experiences to add value to your immediate cohort in business schools.
Goals: Would be interesting to know what are your career plans post MBA, and how you believe you will be able to utilize your current and past experiences to add value to your future role.
