Is anyone aware of how long the whole interview process takes? My slot is at 11:30 am, so should 1 pm be an okay estimate?

Never be too sure, we had some candidates who had to wait for 3-4 hours before they got their chance. But if you have a train or flight to catch, you can certainly request.

We had cancellation of couple of outstationed candidates, but since they were in Delhi, they came down to the interview centre. Adcom was kind to accommodate the outstationed ones.

Re: Calling all ISB PGP Applicants - (2023 Intake) Class of 2024 [#permalink]
My interview was longer than most - lasted an hour.
Interviewers were very friendly and the interview itself was very conversational.

They started off with the usual 'tell us something about yourself' and went on to cover nearly every aspect within my application.
A couple of questions were:

1. Why MBA? Follow-up question: you already work with a much sought-after company and your path will eventually lead you into Product, so how will an MBA specifically help you?
2. Why ISB?
3. Why now? Follow up question: But what will you bring to the table that the others won't, given that you will have around low years of work ex at the time of joining
4. Tell us a little bit about your org chart. We're asking because not many people get an opportunity to lead such a large team right out of college.
5. How did you manage such a large team with no experience at such a young age? What were some challenges you faced?
6. List some failures. What would you do differently today if you get to manage such a scenario.
7. What do you believe are your biggest achievements? How have they shaped you? LOTS of follow-up questions - I went into the intricacies of my projects as well.
8. Since you were in a step-up position, it must also be likely that you work with people much older to you. How easy or difficult was it for you to convince them and what were the techniques you used? What is your leadership style?
9. Why did you transition from your previous role to the current one?
10. What has been the change in your profile since you moved into your new role? How different is it from your previous one?
11. What have been your major projects in this role?
12. What is your short and long-term goal?
13. Questions related to my long term goal. Follow-up questions (do a little pre-read of maybe the trends or new laws or anything that's been in the news that's related to the domain you want to move into)
14. What are the clubs you want to join here? Why? How will you contribute to them?
15. What do you do in your free-time? What are some other hobbies of yours?
16. Do you have any questions for us? I asked them 3 questions - 1 general and 1 specific to each of them and their profiles.

All in all, I believe everyone had a very stress-free interview. The alums seem like they genuinely are interested in YOU and want to know more about you and your profile.
Also, folks who want to move into product/consulting should ideally look at a couple of guesstimate and your favorite product questions.

All the best to everyone! Ace it!

One question about LOR. If I have work ex as self employed (startup founder not family business) can I take LOR from my co-founder. I mentioned this because there is some conflicting info out. ISBs website mentions that you should take from outside your org if you are self employed. But a recent email said that a partner is also a good option for taking LoR. Anybody have any experience with this?

You can take it from your co-founder. Usually it’s better to take it from a client or vendor. If not, co-founder is absolutely fine. Theyy won’t reject you for this :)

Just had my interview this morning.

It lasted around 45 minutes and was very pleasant and conversational.

They immediately delved into my hobbies and then later transitioned into a discussion of tough moments at work.
They questioned me on my career goals and that formed largely the basis of our discussion. They asked me why I had chosen to work as a Product Manager and why I wanted to continue working as a PM afterward. They turned that around and asked why I wanted to eventually transition to a more general leadership role instead of continuing working as a PM which I enjoyed so much, as I had just explained.

Overall the interviewers were very nice and cooperative. They complimented me when I answered something well and they would give me the opportunity to clarify if I didn't convey myself well enough.

Feel I did the best I could, now to just wait and see 🤞
