I would love if someone can through some light into my profile and evaluate if I am a fit to apply in R1 this year.

My 10th and 12th are from ISC (Delhi Board) with > 90% in both.
CGPA of 8.23/10 in Engineering. Studied at Jadavpur University Kolkata in Chemical Engineering.

Got selected in Honeywell with PPO and since then working in client facing roles in oil and gas. By the time I will join ISB, I will have ~ 80 months of WE.
With your experience, hope ISB is not the only school you are applying to; in any case, purely from a risk-dilution perspective, it's always a good idea to apply to at least a few schools.

Quote:
I have handled international projects at client locations globally such as in South America, Africa, Middle East, China and Russia. Each assignment has a timeline of 1 month to 6 months. I was also involved in product development roles such as digital connectivity and asset management. I have worked on offshore projects and has certifications such as CBSP, HUET and BOISET. I also have cross functional experience with sales and R&D. Currently, managing assigned client assets globally.
ok, but your goals are not coming out clearly GMATking94.

Quote:
I recently appeared for GMAT and have a score of 700. I have booked GMAT again to see if I can score better.
Very well thought-out idea.

Hello Everyone,

I would really appreciate if someone can evaluate my profile and help understand if I am an appropriate fit to apply in R1 this year.

Age/Nationality : 28 (Female)/ Indian

My 10th and 12th are from ICSE/ISC with 86/78% respectively in both.
I am a qualified Chartered Accountant with distinction in Strategic Financial Management.

I am currently working in Deloitte in the Investment Management industry wherein I mostly conduct the audit of US based Mutual Fund companies/private equities. By the time I will join ISB, I will have more than 3 years of work experience.

I am an accountant by profession and a writer and dance by passion. I love to write poetry and have done a bit of freelancing as a content writing as well.
I am looking to change my basic industry and field and that’s the main reason I am pursuing MBA and i believe ISB can help me achieve that.

I am planning to appear for GMAT in August and would be aiming for atleast a score of 700.

A lot of folks join from the audit and assurance industry at ISB. Do make sure you demonstrate you knowledge of the industry you’re auditing for
Extra-curricular seems good. Need to understand deeper in terms of what all have you worked on/done within dancing and content
A 700+ would put you in good stead to get through to the interview stage (of course app needs to be stellar).
Goals can be consulting or even get into general management/leadership programs.

Feel free to reach out if you need further help.
Cheers,
Manan

Very decent profile KaranBaldota ; curiously you have not mentioned your discipline in your undergrad, nor the college.

In the application, focus on articulating goals that are aligned with your educational and professional experiences so far.

Hi Ashish. Thank you for your assessment.
I did my undergrad from VIT, Pune in Mechanical Engineering.
Currently my short term goal post ISB is to work as a PM in the energy sector and to get into entrepreneurship in the long term. Build something in the same sector hopefully.
Looking forward to getting your views on this
Thanks!

What? Why? Who plans (in advance) to give multiple GMAT attempts? If your concepts are not in place, then any number of attempts will not take you any closer to your target GMAT score; on the other hand, if concepts are clear and the results in mocks are good, first attempt should be your last attempt.

As you've acknowledged, academics are on the average side. Please refer to the following article, which basically makes a case as to why a very good GMAT score becomes even more of a requirement in such a case:

Are poor/average academics a show-stopper at ISB?

Overall professional accomplishments seem decent; however, I am concerned that if you focus on both CAT and GMAT, you might be spread yourself too thin Fforbarca and may not be able to justice to either of these exams.

Thanks for the insights,
prepared for cat last year and have a decent prep till now.
I gave gmat mock with cat prep only and score 660.
But my main question is answered through your article.
Thank you
