It was becoming all too predictable and too some extent templetized. This would allow for deeper introspection both on the part of the candidates and consultants as well.
Cant agree more, the upgrade of essay topics is a welcoming and refreshing change. `

a lot of the first essay should be about the stuff outside work and focusing on who you are as a person. To some extent, 2nd essay can also have a personal example. Goals being an optional essay means that the interviews would heavily focus on the goals element (more than what they did).

I clicked on Create Account but it’s still giving me the message that "...will open shortly"
Believe it opened for 10 minutes, now it’s not opening. Should reopen shortly.

why did they have to change the essays :(
The essays are very introspective now in nature, which makes it a very individualised and exciting journey once you get to the brainstorming phase. Trust me, you will like it once you get to it. :)

Hi Everyone! Thanks for joining. We will be having an ISB Chat session with a recent ISB admit in about 10 minutes (right after the ISB AdCOm Zoom Session Ends). You can learn about what worked to get into the program, about the profile of the admitted applicant, and of course ask your questions

I had a question but didn’t get a chance to ask. I currently have 2 years of work experience and I am applying for 24-25 batch. Will my profile for admission be compared to someone with 5 or 6 years of work experience or will it be compared to other applicants with 2 years of work experience only?

The ISB session could have been organised better. Many of us did not get a chance to talk. The organisers should have the option of unmuting people only during their turn to ask their questions.

Rishabhaga hope i can help

Your achievements will be compared with those of other applicants with similar backgrounds and a similar number of years of work experience. MBA/PGP applicants are evaluated on a normalized curve, which means there will be fewer acceptances among the very young/less experienced and the significantly older applicants.

What you need to do differently as a younger applicant is to demonstrate that you have gained a solid understanding of your industry or field in the last two years working on a variety of projects and initiatives. You should also be thorough in explaining the types of roles you want to target post-PGP and why. Additionally, you should expect to be grilled in the interview and may be given some case scenarios or case problems. Those are the kinds of things I prepare my ISB applicants for.

Feel free to reach out if you would like to identify whether its really feasible for you at this point to come across as a strong applicant to ISB.

Hope this helps-
1. Fail-proof strategy for acing that ISB Interview

2. What ISB looks for really- A fresh perspective

3. Factors that supplement your ISB PGP goal plan

Hi. Sorry about that. It is up to the ISB AdCom how they handle the questions and the volume of folks. I know we had a busy session so it is going to be hard to ask a personal question. I would say you want to avoid asking personal questions with AdCom sessions since those are not valuable to the other 300 people in the room most of the time, but these chats are just fine. You can also join one of the consultant AMA/Profile Review zooms or chats today and ask it :-)

Thank you elPatron434, for jumping in! It seems we have some of the other admits who volunteered for the session running a bit late so really appreciate it! Did you get admitted in R1 or R2?

Hello ISB Admits/Alum members,
I wanted to know how can a reapplicant improvise his chances of getting into ISB apart from Gmat score?
PS: I am a General Eng. Male category applicant.
