Hey, hope all is well. Academics are super, will help us and hence the GMAT is good to go. Focus on the essays for the next month. Assuming that the full-time work-ex is 3 years. While Big 4 work-ex is fairly common for ISB applicants coming from a Commerce/Econ background, but you being in HR Consulting is a good tweak if presented well in the essays. More than the internships, try to elucidate on who/what influenced you in your formative years (an instrument/a dance form/a sport/parental inspiration/the UN assoc org - why you joined it and how it shaped you). Introspect and give time to your essay drafts. If you do, the interview call will be an eventuality. Thanks and fingers crossed for you!

Thank you! Yes, total 3 years of workex. This is very helpful. Have a follow up question- In the Why ISB + post ISB career goals essay, will it be more favourable for me if I say that I want to continue with HR Consulting or that I want to switch to Management Consulting?

Would need to delve deeper into your WHY behind ISB before answering that, and trust me, many candidates get rejected post the interview because they aren’t clear why they wish to come to ISB. Feel free to reach out, happy to have a conversation, thanks! - https://forms.gle/2CHYYEARCVhE8Tyh9

Hi, i am looking for a profile evaluation and a target gmat focus score range :

i have 6 years of experience as a corporate transactional lawyer, and currently working as a SA with one of tier 1 law firm. I don’t have a team of my own but work with team based on different transaction and have experience in managing those team. The sectors I usually advise on range from tech to healthcare.

Education:
LLM: 70.9%
B.A.LL.B.: 65%
12th: 83.6%
10th: 88.2%

Thank you!
Your extensive experience in a Tier 1 law firm demonstrates a high level of competence showcasing your ability to operate in high-pressure environments and deliver results. It also adds to the diversity quotient at ISB (and all top global B-Schools) which is a definite advantage.
To enhance your competitiveness for ISB top MBA programs, aim for a GMAT Focus score in the range of 650+. Would recommend you to clearly articulate your career goals and how an MBA will help bridge the gap between your current role as a lawyer and your aspirations post-MBA. Show a logical progression and how the MBA will be a catalyst for your professional growth.
By targeting a decent GMAT score and strategically presenting your unique strengths, you will be well-positioned to crack the top MBA programs. Feel free to reach out to Preppie (https://www.preppie.in/) for personalized guidance and support throughout your application process.

You have a stellar academic record in school as well as undergrad. Having a non-engineering background with diverse experience across finance, HR consulting, UN linked entity is definitely your biggest strength. Your GMAT score is also pretty decent. In the application, you should clearly articulate your short-term and long-term career goals. Explain how the ISB PGP program will help you achieve these goals and bridge any gaps in your current skill set. As long as there is clarity and rationale linking ISB PGP to help you achieve your long term goal, you’ll be fine. You have a strong profile, if you craft your application well, there is a very good chance for conversion. If you need to discuss in greater detail, you can book a free consultation with Preppie (https://www.preppie.in)

The EEO/YLP program are undergoing are rebranding exercise. The school come with an update on the new program/entry route for those having < 2 years of work-experience this month (August 2024). Will keep you posted. Also, a caveat - the 2 year work-ex threshold is for March 31st, 2025 (that’s the cutoff date).

MrRobot17 - The NIT tag and GPA are alright. GMAT score is borderline - any chance of a retake/ improvement (e.g. did you score better in mocks)?

Which company (F-100/ 500 etc.) are you working in? Details of any key achievements, skillsets etc. can help assess the professional arc better. Your motivation for an MBA and career goals are also important to have a strong narrative.

Feel free to reach out for a deeper chat.

ikhaan - if you're referring to the time needed to craft essays (plus all other details on the application form), I would say atleast a month (ideally 45+ days).

Check out here for some guidelines and best practices on how to approach ISB's latest essays.

Hi,
From the information you have provided here, things look fine. The Btech grades are slightly below average, not too alarming though, your GMAT is a good enough score. You can however consider writing the GMAT again, a higher score will always be better, provided you were scoring higher on mocks and were prepared for a better score. You should also evaluate the decision of writing the GMAT again, vis a vis the timing/ preparation of your application.

3 years as a supply chain & procurement consultant must have given you a lot of insights to share in your application, those will be important for you to look into.

All the best!
