Hi, @KarthikDS

You have a strong academic background with excellent grades throughout your education. You’ve gained five years of valuable experience in operations and sales, leading significant projects, and introducing innovations that have earned national recognition. Your recent promotion to assistant manager shows your readiness for higher roles.

You aim to transition into consulting at top firms like McKinsey, Bain, BCG, and the Big-4, using your skills in operations and project management to make a bigger impact. Your interests outside of work, such as leading student committees, exploring digital marketing, and blogging about Telugu spiritual literature, show your diverse passions and proactive approach to learning.

For your MBA applications to IIM Bangalore and ISB, consider improving your GMAT score to match their high standards. Write compelling essays that explain how your experiences prepare you for consulting, backed by strong recommendations highlighting your leadership and potential. Talking to alumni can also give you valuable insights. Your well-rounded profile and clear career goals make you a strong candidate for these top programs.

If you have any further questions related to your profile or want to have a 1:1 discussion with our top profile experts, feel free to schedule a complimentary profile evaluations session with our experts . We match you with the students and alums of top B-Schools according to your background and target schools.

No, ISB will come up with an announcement by August. It’s most likely another MIM-type program though no official comms yet. Amit Tyagi from adcom mentioned about the announcement here

Won’t give long gyaan shivshambhu441, :)
almost everything is sorted (assuming 760 was at the test center)
Couple of areas to focus on,
- reasons for moving out of such an interesting role
- eventually what the goals are post-MBA. A number of times folks from the PSUs/govt get rejected because it’s almost always about moving out of the current role with little to no research on where next. most people would plainly say ’operations’. Dig deeper there

You’d have a problem of plenty..which stories to highlight among the many interesting experiences you would’ve had. Good problem to have :)

Work on your app without worrying about the outcome. profile is sorted (undergrad is compensated by the gmat).

Feel free to reach out for a detailed chat!

Cheers,
Manan

I don't get a sense of few important questions shivshambhu441:
  • Which branch in your B.Tech?
  • How did you get thru as s Gp ‘B’ Officer in MoD?
  • Reason for MBA (post ISB goals)?
Overall, profile looks very decent score (with an exceptional GMAT score). Did you apply last year as well?

Hello KarthikDS,

Thanks for writing in.

Your strong academic background, decent GMAT score, stable career trajectory, and logically syncing goals will help you put forth a strong candidature for ISB. Experience-wise, you are just at the cut-off for the IIM's but that should not deter you from applying (just ensure you make every bit of the professional experience you have count in a meaningful manner).

You have what it takes to get an interview call provided you are able to thread it all together in your essays and put forth a compelling narrative that aptly demonstrates your strengths and focuses on why you need the PGP to progress.

Should you wish to discuss your prospects in greater detail, please feel free to get in touch with us for a free profile evaluation session.

Hope this helps.

All the best!

Hi, wanted know if there is Early entry option for ISB?
Hello Harsh_,

Hope this finds you well.

EEO and YLP are no longer offered by ISB.

Thanks.
