This is going to be detailed, as I want to share my experience and vent about Sarthak. To all future aspirants: please, please, please do not choose him. I genuinely believe I would have made it to ISB last year if it hadn’t been for Sarthak.

Since everyone is opening up, let me share my story. I enrolled with Sarthak last year. As seems to be his usual tactic, he offered me a ₹5,000 discount and sent a voice message asking me not to mention the discount to anyone. He also compared himself to other consultants, claiming he was the cheapest option while offering personalized "handholding"—which turned out to be a complete bluff.

I fell for his persuasive voice messages and enrolled. However, every time I asked him a question, his response was dismissive, along the lines of, "Pay the money first, and then we’ll talk." While I understand that consultants need to ensure payment, his approach made it abundantly clear that money was his sole priority. Reluctantly, I enrolled, and that’s when my ordeal began.

His essay services were far below par. He used the same narrative style for everyone and followed a generic template for all stories. I suspect even his editing process was random and lacked effort, marked with what seemed like superficial green highlights. The silver lining was that I realized early on how poor the essays were and sought help from another consultant. She didn’t mince words—she told me outright that my essays weren’t even close to acceptable. Her exact words were: "This isn’t even an essay, just a random mix of fancy words that feel artificial and lack authenticity." I had to rewrite everything myself and start over.

Another instance of negligence was when I filled out the employment details section of my application. I am a software engineer, and my roles and responsibilities were highly technical—complex enough that even another engineer might have struggled to understand them. When I asked Sarthak to review this section, all he said was, "Looks good." This year, looking back, I cringe at how poorly that section was written, and I blame myself for trusting his judgment.

Despite my setbacks, I managed to get an interview call thanks to my strong profile and the help of another consultant. However, this led to yet another disaster. Since my new consultant was unavailable in December, I had no choice but to take interview tips from Sarthak. To this day, I regret that decision. My interview performance was so bad that, in hindsight, I would have rejected myself if I were the interviewer. Sarthak, however, told me it was "amazing."

After my consultant returned, she conducted a mock interview and tore my performance apart. She said my answers were robotic, uninspired, and lacked depth—everything Sarthak had told me was “great.” He didn’t bother correcting me, instead scrolling through his phone during our preparation sessions. I was unaware of my mistakes because he made no effort to provide constructive feedback. I’ll forever appreciate the ISB alumni for rejecting me that year because, honestly, I didn’t deserve to get in with such a poor interview performance.

P.S. If anyone still wants to work with Sarthak, feel free to DM me. I’ll share a recording of my interview (thanks to his idea of recording everything), and you can see for yourself how bad it was and how indifferent his response was. If you’re considering enrolling with him, give me a call—I’ll gladly share every detail of my experience.

No worries, @ancientxyz. I understand your concern, and really appreciate your constructive feedback. Will really help us in ensuring better services for our mentees in the future. If it’s comfortable with you, kindly reach out to us on https://gmatclub.com/chat. Happy to refund the mentorship fee you paid to us. All the best, and rooting for you always. :blushing:
@Sarthak, you might as well refund his money, but how will you ever give him back the year or the opportunity he lost? I genuinely feel sorry for him. I should have posted this last year because what happened to him was unacceptable. Another year of his life is wasted, and countless others who don’t come forward to share their stories will likely face the same fate.

And let’s be clear—you never take criticism. Don’t even try to act like you’re someone who can handle feedback, because you clearly can’t. The moment someone speaks against you, you get defensive and angry. Consider this a warning, not a threat—I have no problem exposing your poor-quality services, including the interview video and those ridiculous voice messages, right here for everyone to see.

You may have managed to secure a good number of clients so far, but let me tell you—this won’t last if you continue delivering such pathetic quality. Your reputation is bound to catch up with you.
Wish I had a reference to something like this from last year to spare myself from this..😕 Searched the net but didn't get any reviews except the testimonials mentioned on their website and LinkedIn. Glad people are atleast speaking out now.

This won’t stop unless people start sharing their detailed experiences openly. Guys, stay informed—GMAT Club allows you to stay anonymous. I already have 10 people DMing me with similar experiences, and I honestly don’t understand why they hesitate to share their stories publicly. It’s only through transparency that we can help others avoid the same mistakes.

there’s no review section currently for admission consultants. A subreddit or gmatclub post would help

There is a section for reviews on GMAT Club, but for some reason, Sarthak’s profile isn’t listed there. I haven’t been able to find any effective way to leave a review that would reach a large audience.

What was your GRE score?
Hi, so I thought hard about it where I should disclose the name of the consultant I had worked with last year for my ISB app. The one who stopped responding to my calls after I didn’t get in. I also know someone who got in but also had a frustrating time working with the consultant. But I think it will only benefit people. It was ISBMantra. I don’t think their consultants (ISB alums) are aware of what an ideal application should look like, or how competitive it has become to crack ISB. They still believe GMAT / GRE scores ’don’t matter much’ (they matter the MOST FYI). This year when I worked with MBAGuide on my INSEAD application, I realised the depth that a good essay must have.

Ya, so I personally wouldn’t recommend ISBMantra. Maybe it would have worked for others, do pitch in with positive reviews if you have.

Glad you found his services to be up to the mark.

Just need to clarify that I NEVER WANTED ANYONE TO WRITE MY ESSAYS FOR ME. I was more than happy writing my own essays. I just thought his drafts could eb useful. The drafts that he provided were sub-par, yes. However, since I was anyway okay writing my own essays, the bigger challenge for me was that there was absolutely ZERO FEEDBACK FROM HIS END. All he ever said was "Looks good"

He said that he had gotten my essays reviewed from other alums and everything "looked good" (of course, duh!)

Luckily I reached out to two alums on my own who straightaway said that there were a couple of things that were almost like red flags and that I had to change. I ended up having to rework my essays at the last moment. I barely had any time for my resume and even when I shared that with him, hoping for some feedback, there was none. Everything always looked good to him.

Got an admit in R1. Just wanted to share my experience and review of the consultant I worked with for my application. It could be helpful in your decision.

I took the GMAT on 12th August and had only a month for my application. I follow Sarthak from Career Edge on LinkedIn and found his post on MBA admissions, and consulting to be quite helpful. I contacted him for my application and after a few days of deliberation, decided to take his help. I found his approach to be structured and we documented every thing we discussed in the call.

Starting from the essays:
I wrote my own version with the points we discussed and documented. Later together, we polished it and made it concise as the proper flow was missing from my version, was way over the limit and it required multiple iterations as initially my own version was shallow. There was even back and forth where I thought the story is deviation from my own experience or too polished with respect to my own thought process.

Resume:
My work is mainly related to mechanical product development and R&D, which is kind of hard to quantify the impact like we can do if someone is working in sales or marketing or as a business analyst. However, I think we created a stellar resume and were able to show the impact and importance of my work both in tangible quantity and quality. All my essays and resume were then independently by isb alumni too.

I was so satisfied that for the whole time I was 100% confident that I would get interview shortlisting.

Then I took the interview preparation services too, he created the list of potential questions based on my profile and in what way we can answer them. The mock was taken by the alumni working in the same role as my target, feedback on the answers aside, I even got the advice how to bring out my own personal side. It was so helpful that in my interview we were just having a conversation and as far as I remember no typical questions were asked.

I would recommend him if you are looking for a consultant. Just wanted to make it clear that I took his help in improving narrative, polishing and making it concise. All of the contents were my own story and ideas. Reading all the review, looks like the the applicants wanted to someone else to write their essays, which in my opinion is wrong way to approach your application.

Ah, it becomes so hard to gauge consultants, each seem to have their share of good/bad reviews, and it’s super hard to figure out who is genuine.

Had a similar experience with Sarthak. Took a free call with him. I was genuinely confused and asked for guidance. But got a really rude reply. Seemed like he just wanted me to join his services. My instinct said not to join. Seems like it was right. This is my experience guys. Am just a chill guy trying to do good in life 😩

Quite easy; Pretty evident Sarthak isn’t good! How many more testimonials do you need?

Whom would you recommend? I’ve only come across 2-3, I’m worried about not having the expertise to gauge this out.

I took Manan’s services (S4G) and found it good. Even though I got waitlisted, but no complaints as such. You can talk to him once and decide for yourself.

Hello guys, I took admit street consulting and pretty satisfied with their services. Even though I am a reapplicant in R1 and was rejected this time also for god knows what reason, I have no complaints as such. You can connect with them to take an informed decision.

My experience with Sarthak was really great actually. Despite having a borderline GMAT score and previously being rejected by ISB, his guidance really turned things around for me. He took the time to dive deep into my experiences and helped me present a compelling and well-rounded profile.

His quick turnaround time was particularly impressive, especially compared to other counselors, who often need constant follow-ups to deliver essays. With his support, I applied in R1 with the same GMAT score and successfully got through. Sarthak played a significant role in making this achievement possible.

Hi guys,

After reading so many reviews about Sarthak from CareerEdge, I would like to give my honest opinion about him. PLEASE DON’T GO WITH SARTHAK; HIS WORK IS REALLY BAD AND DISAPPOINTING.

Despite my doubts and confusion, I went ahead with him, thinking that since he is new in the field, he would give his best to deliver good results. We had our initial discussion, and I gave him a draft version of a 700-800-word essay, as he had asked. To my surprise, within the next 2 hours, he sent me a “ready” ISB essay of 400 words. The essay was filled with unnecessary vocabulary that seemed like he was trying to show off rather than focus on what was required. He also kept flaunting his testimonials and such.

I showed that essay to my friends who are ISB alums and doing well in their careers. They laughed and said this essay would take me nowhere. I politely suggested we make some alterations, but he responded by saying, “You give me points, and I’ll change it.” He made all the changes in 20 minutes. I mean, no matter how efficient you are, you cannot make substantial changes that quickly.

I spent hours working on it myself, discussing it with many friends and making several iterations. When I asked him for help to enhance it, he only made minor changes and said it was done. When I provided him with feedback on his services, instead of taking it constructively, he took it personally. He quoted fake numbers, claiming that no one had ever questioned his services before. I still insisted we try again to make it better.

But again, he made no real effort. Whatever I sent, his feedback was always “looks good,” “looks okay,” etc., with no meaningful input. Eventually, I gave up and worked on everything with the help of my friends and seniors. He would just send me recorded voice notes for each essay, and I believe the third essay on “Why ISB” was copy-pasted for everyone, without even checking if it made sense. I completely rewrote it myself.

He also advised me to create a 2-page CV and include academic scores, saying, “ISB waale iss baar pagla gaye hain ki scores nai likhne, so make a 2-pager. A 1-page CV is for consulting interviews, not MBA interviews.” I put my best effort into making the CV, spending hours on it and getting it quality-checked by others.

On 13th September, a day before my IIM A PGPX interview and two days before the ISB deadline, I previewed the form and saw that only a 1-page CV was allowed. I called the ISB team, and they confirmed that 2-pagers would not be accepted. I was already anxious because it’s not easy to condense a detailed 2-page CV into 1 page in a day, especially when you have a major interview scheduled for the next day.

Sarthak claimed he had discussed this with Ketan and Amit Tyagi, so I asked for a screenshot of their conversation. He said he couldn’t share it. I then messaged Mr. Amit Tyagi directly on LinkedIn, and he responded within an hour, confirming that only a 1-page CV was allowed. When I informed Sarthak, he once again took it personally. After I sent him the screenshot, he messaged Mr. Ketan asking for clarification, while pretending he had already spoken to him before. Then, he sent me a voice note saying our contract was over, and he didn’t want to work with me anymore, lol.

He is such a liar, and all the stats he uses are fake. Please, do not trust him, and don’t be trapped by consultants like him just because of the cost or other factors.

I believe that by not following any of his advice, I was able to convert both ISB and IIM B. IF YOU GUYS REALLY WANT TO CONVERT, DO EXACTLY OPPOSITE OF WHAT HE SUGGESTS AND YOUR CHANCES WILL IMPROVE BY 80%. Best of luck to future candidates in choosing the right consultant.

I could have written even more, and if anyone wants to verify my words, I’m happy to share all the screenshots and voice notes to bring the truth to light.
