Hi,
I am an Indian female targeting ISB PGP 2026 R1 intake.
Academic profile:
95% in 10th
92.6% in 12th
7.2 CGPA in Mechanical Engineering + Physics from Tier 1 school
Work Ex:
Have been working at a top Indian bank since July 2023 (i.e. >3 YoE at the time of application). Was recruited at campus in the audit function for automation. In April 2025, made a move to product management internally and got promoted. Have been working as a PM ever since. Have been recognised with various performance awards thrice throughout my stint.
ECs:
2 PoRs in UG
I am aiming for a 705+ GMAT FE score.
What are my chances and how should I enhance my profile or tell my story more efficiently?
This is a strong profile for ISB PGP : great academics, Tier-1 UG, solid brand, and a clear growth story (audit → product + promotion + awards).
GMAT Focus:
- 685: safe
- 705+: competitive
- 715+: puts you in a very strong spot
What will really matter now:
- Show impact as a PM (users, revenue, efficiency gains)
- Build a tight story: engineering → automation → product → future leadership
- Highlight fast growth + recognition clearly
Overall: you’re already a competitive applicant and with execution on GMAT + essays will decide a solid conversion. (Including scholarship)

31/male/India
1. 10th - 10 CGPA
2. 12th - 89%
3. undergrad - B.E - 68%
4. MBA in Marketing from Tier 2 college in India- 8.2 CGPA
5. 5 years work experience in Market research industry
6. yet to take GMAT
targeting ISB for my second MBA
how does my current profile look and what gmat score should I ideally target?
You have good academics and stable work ex, but second MBA + average undergrad + non-elite work brand makes it competitive for ISB PGP.
Also, at 31, you’re slightly on the higher side for ISB PGP. Not a deal breaker, but you’ll be compared with candidates who have stronger leadership and career progression, so expectations would be higher.
So you need to overcompensate on GMAT + story.
GMAT Focus target: 700+, further have a very good narrative around
- Very clear “why second MBA”
- Strong career progression + impact in market research
- Position MBA as a pivot to higher roles (strategy/product/consulting)
Bottom line: average profile today, but with 700+ GMAT + strong narrative, you become competitive.
