- 10th: 9.3 GPA
- +2: 80%
- B.Tech: 7.6 CGPA (Electronics and Communication Engineering, VIT Vellore)
Extra Curriculars:
I was a member of Juvenile Care at VIT, Vellore, where I worked to encourage children to pursue education through engaging and supportive learning initiatives.
Work Experience:
I'm prepared for a journey abroad and to pursue a Master's degree, but something changed. I felt an urge to create a brand and build a business here in India itself. It's been a total of 2 1/2 years since I started working on the brand and 1 year & 4 months since launched. We achieved the right product-market fit. This is a small brief on my work experience.
I'm targeting a score of 715+ to get into ISB R1.
Any suggestions on strengthening/building my profile to increase the chances of getting into ISB?
Education:

I feel MDI/IIM M are more consulting/Marketing/Operation focused colleges and ISB is one of the best for consulting/Product management. As someone who wants to Pivot to PM role, I feel ISB aligns more to my goals. Also since I am now around 4 years of workex - In IIMs I will be around the 8-10% older people of the batch while in ISB I feel I will meet more people around my age. Lastly, I am also weighing in the options of 1 year vs 2 year MBA oppurtunity cost and the brand value of ISB comparitive to these 2 colleges. But my only fear is what if being an average profile - I took the risk and din't receive any call - I wouldn't have any options then and Since its already 4+ years and I want to pivot to a different industry, current work ex wont help much. Really confused what step to take.

I have simulated your case and monetarily you are better of by ~10lakh with ISB. However, sometimes 2 years is good if you want more campus time. Hence it's a case by case situation.
Having said that, even at IIMs you can get into product/consulting. (I am an example. In past worked in exactly similar role as yours for IOCL)
What's more important is for you to know what you would do in each of these roles. Both may have some overlap depending on what kind of consulting you would end up in but both roles are starkly different.
Yes, from experience standpoint you would be on the higher side for 2 year MBA and you would be eligible not just for ISB but also IIMA PGPX.
