What is your GMAT score and which schools you have on mind? That should help evaluating holistically
I will be taking GMAT mid August. I’m only targeting ISB.

Request for Profile Evaluation:

31M, GMAT FE - 665
10th (ICSE board) - 91%
Diploma (Civil Engg) - 86%
BE (Civil), Pune University - 80% (Gold Medalist)
M.Tech (Environmental Science & Engg), IIT Bombay - 9.89 GPA (Institute Silver and Deparmental Gold Medalist)

Total work exp. - 7 years: Working in Environmental Consulting and Sustainability Management
Post MBA Industry Goal - Sustainable Finance & Impact Investing
Decent academics. Post-MBA goal can be logically linked with your 7 yrs of work-ex. GMAT score is also decent for your profile. Think about re-take only if your mock scores indicate a significant headroom for further improvement. Otherwise, focus on building a strong application for ISB and IIMs. Add some extracurriculars or hobbies to make the profile well rounded. Wishing you the best. Feel free to reach out to us at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in) for a more detailed conversation.

Hello requesting for profile evaluation
Indian Female
10th- 8.2 CGPA
12th- 78%
Grad. BA English Literature- 65%
Post Grad Masters in Sustainable Development Practices
2 published papers on Urban development and Food security
Worked on a project with Jadavpur University on the topic Domestic Violence which included ground work with the victims, officers, civil courts and NGOs.
3 years of work experience in the field of Environmental Social Governance (ESG) in a financial rating company. Two promotions and exposure to multiple roles like data analyst, tool tester(led the UAT testing for a new data analysis tool and coordinated with multiple teams) and process trainer(experience training 135 analysts, responsibilities i clised onboarding of new employees and upskilling of existing employees).
Although academics is on the lower side, the profile is unique in terms of the academic stream, nature of work-ex, papers and projects with Jadavpur. Anecdotes from the field of sustainability, social work along with quantitative skills such as data analysis can make your application really stand out. Would be good to know your post MBA goals as well to assess the end-to-end narrative. Given the uniqueness of the profile, you might have some buffers with respect to GMAT - try for a 655+ to improve your chances. Wishing you the very best. In case you wish to speak with ISB alums in more detail about your application strategy, you can book the same at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in)

Hello requesting for profile evaluation
General-Engineering-Male
Age-29
10th- 9.3 CGPA
12th- 87%
BE(Hons)- 81% Mechanical Engineering from State Govt Engg College (Hons awarded for >80%)

Co-authored a scientific (published) paper on Hardening Effect on Al-Alloy.

6.5 years of work experience for the largest Indian FMCG, working in Supply Chain function. Worked across different profile- Manufacturing, QA-QC, Engineering, Operational Excellence, across different business improvement led projects (mostly technical). Although my Op Ex role had lot of data analysis related projects.

(Not listed extra curriculars but it’s limited to holding position of authority in various organizations and arranging and coordinating different events. Also, Limca Books Record holder- don’t know if it helps)

GMAT FE - 695

Planning for Indian B Schools for 2026 intake

Also, should I reappear for GMAT?
You pretty much have all the components of a strong applicant. No need to re-take the GMAT unless you have a strong reason to do so. Ensure that your post MBA goals align well with the Supply chain and Ops experience. Just focus on crafting a compelling and coherent application and you are very likely to get an interview invite. All the best! Feel free to reach out to us at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in) if you wish to discuss anything specific

How close are the GMAT club full tests to the actual exam

Your work as solo founder of D2C brand, earning you Nykaa’s top emerging beauty brand award is enough validation of your business skills, entrepreneurship capabilities and leadership traits. A 645+ would be enough to make you a really serious candidate for selection. Best of luck.

Main Answer - Generally for lower work experience, a relatively higher score is required. But given your rich work quality, you should score atleast 665+ to be ’safe’. Disclaimer: Nothing is safe as such, but this should be the minima you should target.

Good academics, great extracurricular and really good work experience in agri-fintech with enough entrepreneurial traits. And a side hustle on top of that. This is good enough profile to get selected. No noticeable challenges in profile. Best of luck.

Age: 23
10th- 10 CGPA
12th- 91% MEC
BBA (Data Analytics and Digital Marketing)—9.8 CGPA IBS, Hyderabad

State level badmintion player under 18 and reached semi finals (highest). Won several nationwide gaming tournaments during covid and currently bootstrapping an Indian-originated and based esports club. Also during 12th grade, I came 2nd in badminton inter college tournament. Part-time and freelance hobbies such as video editor and content creator

3 years of work experience in a market research firm and got promoted from associate consultant to research analyst. With 40-plus market reports across various industries getting converted and published. Trained and mentored 8 associates in my team during my tenure. Although my role had a lot of data analysis-related projects as this includes mostly primary and secondary research. Designed and published a hydrogen supply chain database across major countries to many consulting firms such as Deloitte and EY.

Would appreciate your thoughts on this profile and whether applying in Round 2 would reduce my chances in any way.

Hi ZFG,

No, applying in R2 will not reduce your chances.

You have good academic scores. The work that you are doing and the under graduation course are aligned, showing a good progression and thought. With one promotion in 3 years, your work experience has decent points to showcase.

But the biggest plus is your own stature as a badminton player and your contribution for sports. MBA colleges love someone with different background and perspective. They may find people with similar work experience as yours but not many will have the state level laurels. Use this to your advantage in application and interview.

You can target 655+. Best of luck.
