GRE -317
IELTS - 8
Work ex - ~7 years

Now I handle the performance of a ~100 member team, make sure we are following the regulatory policies to make sure risks are missed in user evaluations. No direct reportees, but I am responsible for all the analysts’ KPIs (quality, production, etc). I have to deal with internal and external auditors as well (the regulation part).
Community work - I have volunteer experience for welfare of children and women (organising workshops, exhibitions and all).
Everything looks good except GRE score.

Try your chances or

Improve score and apply in R2

Hi WA@jil511, Interesting Work Profile. Experience in tax evasion, anti money laundering, counter terrorism wrt financial side and good regulatory exposure makes you a unique one in many respects. This will sure attract attention to your profile. Coupled with decent acads and EC, you will be good once you get to the interview stage. But to get there, if possible try to get a better score. Generally 323+ has a better chance. But depends on your situation, if you are feeling that this is the score, then go ahead. This may still lead to your selection. Best Wishes.

Great academics and Non-Engg profile would help. Very interesting work experience which will give you enough unique things to talk about in your application. Decent ECs as well. If anything, you might want to improve your GRE score, 321+ would also help strengthen your candidature immensely. All the very best!

Hi guys,
Can someone please tell me the target gmat score for my profile for ISB and IIM ABC PGPEX?
X - 97
XII - 97.2
Grad - 9.4/10
GNEM
4 years of experience as a Quant Associate in a leading IB.
PORs in school and college; 1 fast track promotion

My GMAT mock scores are fluctuating between 605-685. Even when it’s a 685, I know the mistakes are very careless and could be avoided but I haven’t yet touched my target mock score of 705+. It’s either DI or Verbal or both pulling me super down. I really want to apply in R1 but want to know the decent gmat score basis my profile? Should I book it and be done and focus on application?
Your quant oriented work-ex in IB gives your profile a very good spike. Academics is obviously great and Non-Engg background would also help. 605-685 is too big a range to comment on. Ideally you should target 675-685+ in the actual exam. Won’t hurt to give an attempt before R1. From your comments it seems that you are confident of hitting 705+ in your mocks - if that’s the case then based on your actual score from the first attempt, you can take a more informed call about re-taking the exam & applying in R2. All the best! Happy to discuss in more detail at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in)

Hey - Anyone having insight into what sort of form the recommender recieve from ISB once I enter their details in recommender section? Any insights into the questions as well.
1. Please provide a brief description of your interaction with the applicant. (Word limit 500)
2. How does the applicant’s performance compare to other well-qualified individuals in similar roles? Please provide specific examples (e.g. what are the applicant’s principal strengths?) (Word limit 500)
3. Describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant’s response. (Word limit 500)
4. Is there anything else we should know? (Word limit 500)

WA@zlr974
1. Is there an order followed for interview invites? If I believe I have a strong profile, should I expect an earlier interview?
2. How much time is there between communication of the shortlisting and the interview itself?
No such order is followed based on strength of profile. Usually 5-7 days gap between invite email and actual interview but this can also fluctuate from case to case

Hi,

I am planning to apply to ISB and confused if I should apply in R1 / R2?

12th and 10th: 91.8
Undergrad: 8.5
Engineering female

Work experience: 4 years in a bulge bracket Investment bank

GRE: 323

Decent curriculars in college and volunteering experiences

Should I retake GRE and work on applications side by side? Also, should I apply to IIM A PGPX?

Please let me know. I am really confused
Other aspects look pretty good. Improve your GRE score to 327+ and then apply to both ISB and IIMA PGPX even if that means applying in R2. Happy to discuss it in more detail at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in)

Hi All! Request for a profile review
10th: 10 CGPA
12th: 87%
UG - 8.75 GPA Tier 2 Engineering
WorkEx - 3+ years in T1 Consulting (MBB) got a couple of awards among a couple of other things
Extra curriculars - leadership in school and club activities in UG and volunteering and successful fund raising for an NGO I work with

1. Would be the bare minimum score I’d need to target to possibly get a call for interview?
2. What score would it take for me to get a scholarship?

Any guidance appreciated.
Cheers!
Good academic scores. MBB brand helps but it would be equally important to emphasise on your learnings depending on whether it was Frontend consulting or Knowledge Center kind of role. ECs are also decent. Keep a target of 675+ for a good chance at interview shortlist provided the application quality is top notch. Commenting on chances of scholarship is very difficult since it involves a lot of latent factors that can neither be known nor controlled. All the best! Always available for a chat at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in).

Hi all, for YL candidates with work ex, is past employer’s recommendation needed?
For PGP YL, you need 1 LOR which can be from a Professor, project mentor or colleague/manager from your organisation. It is upto you to choose the recommender. So choose someone who has worked closely with you and can detail out specific supporting instances in the LOR form. Hope that helps!

Hi ikansh444, You have got one fast tracked promotion in 1.5 years of work in consulting space. Thats impressive. 3 internships in 3 years show a desire to learn and excel. The acads and EC are decent enough. SSCBS is a well reputed DU college.
Helping in family business adds a different perspective to your own intellectual growth. With all these positive aspects, you should be good profile wise.
You can target 675-685, mostly on account of high competition among people with similar academic background as yours. Anything higher obviously will be better.
Best Wishes

Well, since candidates with no work-ex are also eligible to apply to YL, I am pretty sure this is not a requirement.

10th (CBSE) - 10 CGPA
12th (CBSE) - 85.40%
B.Tech - 8.25/10 CGPA Mechanical Engg (State Govt college)

Experience - 1.5 years in TCS Oracle EBS Support
4 years in SBI, focus on retail advances and problem loan management,
Started a business for family last year from scratch that is running well

Have received professional recognitions in TCS and SBI
Led College team to ATV racing events

Gmat unofficial score 675

How competitive is profile for ISB PGP?(planning for applying this year)
Should retake gmat and go for R2 or apply in R1?
@WA@kio2956, Apply in R1 if you can get score of 675. Otherwise go for R2.

You have SBI experiecne which in itself is a huge learing experiecne in terms of volume of business handled and understanding the ground level financial challenges. Also you have IT experience and family business experience which adds the technological and entreprenuerial layers to your overall profile. This is good enough profile to qualify.

Start with preparation of application/interview immidiately if you are aiming R1 as deadline is near and if it looks like a lot to handle, then go for R2. Selection chances will not be impacted. And score of 675 is enough, no need to worry on the score if this is the final score.
