Great academic scores. Non-Engg background and Christ branding will help. GMAT score is also decent. Managing end-to-end project life cycle along with handling a big team can yield interesting narratives for the application. You also have some ECs to talk about for profile completeness. Overall a pretty good profile - If you build your application right, you have high chances of getting an interview invite. You can always reach out to us at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in) if you need any support or guidance. All the best!

Hi Xlsx,
Branded organization, fast-tracked promotions, client interfacing, behind the scenes exposure, non-tech background with Christ brand -- all work in your favour. Extracurriculars are decent.

That said, ISB essays are nuanced and a straight jacket presentation of achievements doesn’t find space in their essays. Rather, the focus is on unique experiences and why and how they have brought you to the point of considering an MBA.

Learning curve and specific influences will need to be well thought-out. If you have the bandwidth, increase the GMAT score; if not then focus on building a very solid story that explains the rationale behind your choices. Should you have more queries, feel free to DM or connect on 9619551984.

Can anybody guide what is ISB expecting in the 2nd essay?
The second ISB prompt seeks insight into the candidate’s ability to assimilate learning opportunities from varied experiences. It clearly asks for anecdotes; fluffy narratives with catch phrases and aspirational corporate lingo won’t make the cut as per me.

While there can be several ways to approach the story line, one effective way could be to take two instances from professional life - say a failure and a challenge and contexualize the learning.

Examples of learning from a teammate or a senior and how that particular habit/approach/mindset continues to help you grow can also be mentioned.

Next, we need to link the learning so far and address the gaps that link to the need for an MBA now. Important point: Since the first essay takes care of leadership, be careful to avoid an overlap of leadership instances in the second essay.

Again, this is one suggestion and for each candidate, their unique story will need individual treatment. Hope this helps! If you want to discuss your essays or get them reviewed, feel free to connect on 9619551984.

Hi xlsx, You will get the shortlist, no doubt. Good GMAT and acads. 2 promotions in 3 years shows the value you bring to any organization. Decent extra curricluar as well. Really, no red flags.
Apply and prepare well for interview. Best Wishes.

Hi riyagupta2455, Nope. Every one takes different path. Path is not judged. The reasons are. If you have reasons for that which reflect a positive thought process, nothing to worry.

Hi Prep745, The work experience is rich. Since you have been part of pilot batch multiple times and got the opportunity to lead initiatives, it has given you kind of entrepreneurial experience within corporate. The initiatives run across team collaboration, automation, setting up operations etc. And for last 3.5 years you have an exposure to product management. This is a good variety ad width of experience where you can add value to ISB cohort. Considering average extra curricular, since its not mentioned, overall profile is good.

The concern areas which you may already be addressing are - a) GMAT needs to be up by 200 points. Once you start preparation, you should focus to reach there ASAP as R2 dates are not that distant. b) Under-graduation marks and kind of second MBA may be asked, so you can ponder upon them during application/interview stage.

Right now, focus on GMAT, get a good score. Best Wishes.
Thank you so much

Guide to ISB Essay Topics 2026: Key Insights, Tips, and Strategies

Amithhhh
Can someone please help evaluate my profile.

10th - 9.8
12th - 92%
MBBS - First class
Graduated from med school in 2022
GMAT - 625

I am a doctor/ professor - worked for 2 years as a chief medical officer in the emergency department. I also balanced working as a part time professor for a maritime academy teaching basic survival medicine. I love sharing knowledge and teaching whatever I know.

I also co founded a mobile car wash service as a side hustle to test my entrepreneur skills. Scaled it to around 100 customers. Exited the company selling my shares. ( this is not a registered company btw but I do have proofs)

Extra curricular would be my passion for football, fitness and love reading books.
MBBS profiles always have an edge due to uniqueness. Have experience with side hustles and decent ECs as well which can be a great addition to your profile. As others have also recommended, the current GMAT score is on the lower side. Given your profile, even a score of 645 would immensely increase your chances of getting shortlisted. Be very clear about your post MBA goals and how it links with your experience as a doctor/professor. All the best! We are always available for a chat at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in) if you need to discuss any aspect in more detail.

Hi,
Requesting a quick Profile Evaluation-
GMAT - 655
10th - 10 CGPA
12th - 96%
Btech CSE, Graphic Era University , 9.58 CGPA - Bronze Medalist
6.5 years of Experience as Software Developer in MNCs - working with clients having more than 5 billion pounds turnover.
5 Research Papers published as first author,
Research Fellowship at IIT Hyderabad, Student Head of NSS for 2 years, associated with an NGO since last year.
Incase any other information needed, please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
Good academics. B.Tech CSE + SDE role is in general a crowded place so make sure to highlight other unique aspects of your profile to stand out. Also, the research papers show an inclination towards the technical aspects so be clear with your answer to "why MBA" and post-MBA goals. GMAT score is slightly on the lower side - if you feel there is a potential to bump it up to 675+, I’d encourage doing that even if it means applying in R2. On the other hand, if 655 is already close to your personal best score based on your self assessment, then focus your efforts on building a strong application for R1. Feel free to reach out to us at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in) for a detailed assessment by ISB alums.

Hi,
Requesting a quick profile evaluation.
GMAT - 655 , 93%ile
BTech, ECE, VIT vellore- 8.0 CGPA
Exp - 1.5 years as Data analyst and 5years Product Manager in a startup, that scaled up tremendously.

Incase Any other information needed, please let me know.

Thanking you in advance.
Understanding your post MBA goals and any noteworthy extracurriculars would help with a detailed assessment. From the details shared, the academics seem sorted. It is crucial for you to highlight your contributions as a PM during the growth phase of the startup - can provide multiple instances of leadership and entrepreneurial behaviour. While 655 score is still okay for your profile, make sure your application is stellar enough to make up for it. All the best! If you wish to bounce ideas regarding your application strategy with ISB alums, you can reach out to us at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in)

Hi all!! Requesting a profile review
101th: 91.3%
121th: C Grade
UG In Finance: 3.12/ CGPA
PG in Commerce: 8.25/10 CGPA
CFA Charter Holder
WorkEx: 1.5 years as a business and financial consultant, 2 years as a buy-side analyst at a family office managing more than $100mn, currently working in IB (Last 1 year), helping Impact companies raise funds.
Extra Curriculars: Part of the social community club, and write poems that I publish
GMAT: Yet to give
Very consistent profile in the field of Finance. Core experience as a buy side analyst and IB gives you a unique experience to talk about in your application. CFA Charter Holder is obviously great. Target 675+ in GMAT to stay competitive. While some ECs are mentioned, make sure it shines through. 12th score is the only bummer but given all the other strong components of your profile, it should not be too much of a worry. Since you are already in a core Finance role, Post MBA goals should be really clear and genuine. Happy to have a more nuanced conversation with you at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in). All the best!

UG in BBA Hospitality from Tier 1 college (Non engineer female)
Work ex: 2.6y by Mar 2026

Extra curriculars - Part of social work in office, college and professional and cultural clubs in UG. GRE score 320+ aim
Degree in Hospitality and work-ex as an HR gives you enough ingredients for a unique application. Academic scores and ECs are also decent. Given your work-ex is on the lowest end of the spectrum, aim for 327+ in GRE. All the very best! Happy to help in anyway we can at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in).
