10th (CBSE) - 10 CGPA
12th (CBSE) - 85.40%
B.Tech - 8.25/10 CGPA Mechanical Engg (State Govt college)

Experience - 1.5 years in TCS Oracle EBS Support
4 years in SBI, focus on retail advances and problem loan management,
Started a business for family last year from scratch that is running well

Have received professional recognitions in TCS and SBI
Led College team to ATV racing events

Gmat unofficial score 675

How competitive is profile for ISB PGP?(planning for applying this year)
Should retake gmat and go for R2 or apply in R1?
No reason to retake, unless you were scoring significantly more than 675 consistently in your official mocks.

I see no value in waiting for R2.

Hi all, can someone please help me with the GMAT score to target based on my profile for ISB PGP-YL?
Female
10th (ICSE) - 85%
12th (ISC, Commerce + Maths) - 84%
UG: DU - 8.33 CGPA
Work ex: 1.5 years in a top research and consulting team (with fast-tracked promotion)
Internship: 3, in each college year

Extra cur.
Leadership roles in school and college clubs
College activities: Worked with 3 NGOs plus theatre for 3 years of college
Decent academics. Non-Engg degree and DU branding will help. Fast-tracked promotion in a research & consulting space within 1.5 yrs is great - most applicants for PGP YL won’t have formal promotions to talk about in their application so that can set you apart. Internships and ECs are also diverse and gives you more dimensions to bolster your profile. Target 685+ in GMAT and you’ll have a very high chance of getting an interview invite. All the best! Feel free to reach out to us at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in) for a more detailed conversation if needed.

675 is a good score for your profile. Unless you feel you can still significantly bump this up, apply in R1 itself. All the best!

Hi All!

I had a small doubt regarding the resume format for the application process.

Although we are not allowed to share any details apart from name and age as per the isb sample resume.

For the education section the sample resume doesnt have any cgpa or education details pre graduation, can we add the cgpa and/or class 12th/10th info?

Also if you have a research paper, which section do we mention that in? Or do we create a new section for it?

Thanks.
Do NoT mentioned CGPA
Do only what ISB expects you to do

Mention paper publication in achievement section

Hi WA@blv2414, Receiving highest feedback every quarter is no mean feat! Great extra curricular. Academic scores are slightly on average side, but a good GMAT covers that.
Work well on your application and interviews, shortlist is definitely in the cards. The interview will determine your selection, try to make the most of the time from now till interview. Best Wishes.

Hi
How important is it to attempt the optional essay? Is it recommended always? Or recommended only if you have anything meaningful to write

My logic:
Optional is mandatory 😀

All my candidates are writing this essay.

The logic is you are probably considered a good candidate when you have something meaningful beyond what you have written in first two essays.

I think a good candidate should always have something more...

if you can’t think of anything more then potentially the problem area is

*insufficient Brainstorming*

Think more and think through ... 🙂👍🏻

Decent academics but GMAT score more than makes up for it. Great work experience - Promotion + Excellent quarterly feedback + international projects give you enough ingredients for a compelling professional narrative. ECs are also great, try to add some hobbies beyond college time as well. Would be curious to know your post MBA goals. Broadly a good profile. Focus on creating a strong application with clarity of thought. All the best!

Hi isbaspirant2026, Your entrepreneurial and creative side is quite strong. Staring a brand and marketing it is a difficult job and provides a lot of meaningful learning. The work experience is solid in sense of the brand value and the work in Strategic Alliances and Partnerships. This definitely will be valued in ISB.
The probable items to address - a) Its not mentioned that first PG was in what? So, once you move to next stage, do prepare about reasons for 2nd PG b) The acads are okayish and GRE score will become important in that reagards. A GRE of 327+ should be an ideal target for you c) If you are ok with the idea, please also consider IIMA/B/C as you will have approx 6+ years of work ex by the time you get admit to ISB and those colleges will provide almost similar value addition in that stage.
Best Wishes.

Low score in BBA - try to offset with a GRE score of 327+. Other scores are good but I would like to know the PG domain. From your roles across EY and TCS, you would have enough instances to talk about the learnings & experiences from partnerships/alliances in different geographies. Your entrepreneurial hustles add further uniqueness to the profile. Would also love to know your post MBA goals. All the best for GRE and applications!

Hi,

Could you please evaluate my profile and let me know if I would be eligible to apply for ISB (if I take the GMAT), or if switching jobs would be a better option?

Here’s a quick snapshot of my background:
1. Academics – 10th: 8.8 CGPA | 12th: 886 marks | B.Tech: 8.02 CGPA | Recipient of scholarships
2. Work Experience – 3 years as a Sustainability Analyst at CII–IGBC
3. Social Initiatives – Volunteer at NGOs, including helping visually impaired students during exams; active member in NGO initiatives through office
4. Leadership & Networking – Member of a Women’s Club, involved in leadership and networking activities
5. Certifications – Completed 5 courses on sustainability; Certified Sustainable Professional
6. Technical Skills – Power BI (cleared PL-300 certification)

If I do have a chance of getting in, could you also guide me on what additional steps I should take to strengthen my profile?
