R1 waitlist results will be announced by April 20th. This has been confirmed by adcom.

Wasn’t this always the case? By 20th April, in a phased manner...

This is what I'm confused about. R1 results in a phased manner but R2 and R3 are not in a phased manner? And since it's 9th April already and R1 results were to be announced in a phased manner, it makes sense that no more R1 admits will be announced.

There was confusion among R1 folks as R2/R3 date is 15th May.

Even the R2/R3 folks have been told "by 15th May in a phased manner". But it looks like the phase has not yet started

I was talking about these posts:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/calling-all- ... l#p2743434

https://gmatclub.com/forum/calling-all- ... l#p2743145

These seem to suggest that some R1 waitlisted candidates have already gotten some form of further communication from ISB and only rejected candidates' list will be announced on 10th April. Or 20th April.

BlandRhetoric, only 1 person, that too saying some others have got it+ no source. Plus there are no updates on tracker yet and also none of my known credible sources involved in the proces( consultants/coaches) seem to know anyone with movement in waitlist.

Yes, which is why I am a little unsure of what to expect. But thankfully you have confirmed that the wait will be no longer than 20th April. Thanks for that! Are you also an R1 waitlist? Since when have you been waiting?

This is a very frustrating period.

In the past, there have been cases where our waitlisted candidates were asked to join ISB, with just 10-15 days of notice period (they were intimated of their waitlist conversion 10-15 days before the start of the session).

AFAIK, last year people who got upgraded from WL did not get the chance to defer.

ISBeacon, we have around 200 candidates in WL(120 on tracker+ 80 not on group) any idea how many could convert our of this based on last years trend and taking in account the current situation.

Guys, I might sound little pessimist. But please don’t have much hope with this. The competition this year is intense in every college.

Im curious how this waitlist process works at ISB. The fee deposit deadline for admitted students is May 21. It is at that time that they would actually get to know how many people dropped off or defered right (after giving deposit)? How can they give a decision on waitlist by April 20 and May 15 for R1 and R2/R3? Also given that R1 waitlists will have a decision by April 20 - does it mean R2/R3 waitlist have an advantage in terms of buffer of time in case seats become available b/w April 20 and May 15?

aaadi15, 21 may is the deadline for full fees payment. There is 10 days/15 days time to pay the initial blocking amount (2.75L) non refundable from the day the admit is received. Given the last round of admits came on April 2, ISB would know by now the number of people joining. Provided there are no more rounds of admits to be announced. There could be additional dropouts if people decide that it’s ok to forfeit the initial fee rather than joining ISB. This will only increase the WL chances.
