Waitlist actuallymeans they want to look at what else is out there before giving you an offer

Rice is heavy on engagement, find people from here who will advocate for you and get a push

Here? In what context? Can someone on here recommend?

I'm a rice mba student. Ex-moderator here at GMATClub.

One of the elements of applications is - networking.
If you can start networking with people who can start advocating for you to admissions team, you "might" be able to prove that you can network to get a job.

Now, I am also an entrepreneur at MBAConquerors.com so I cannot tell you the whole strategy, but, I can tell you where you can start. You were interviewed by an MBA admissions ambassador, I presume.

Hey guys, I’ll be applying to Rice for R2. As an International student (Indian), realistically, would there be any seats left in the program? As in, do they even consider international post R1?

Well, considering the limited seats for Indian applicants, I was trying to make out how would they roll out admissions tranche wise. Also, seeing a lot of waitlists above.

You have a chance of getting the admit, if not scholarship (assuming you are a male engineer)

Hello..!!! If a person is admitted with 50% scholarship and still there is a huge amount to be paid. Moreover there is no promotion in job and no other school has given more scholarship than this school then in this scenario is there any other term on which he can negotiate with them?

Get more admits from lower ranked schools in R2 is one way to go about it.

Rocky121212, the other route can be demonstrating merit based on need (it’s a whole lot). Now I can’t tell you the whole thing cuz I get paid for that as a consultant but feel free to reach out. Plenty of ways to get the money out.

Esp. if you’re from overrepresented pool , I think you can demonstrate merit. Believe me. I’ve seen people’s performance here. The "value-add" matters a lot in negotiations and there’s a lot you can add.
