Waitlisted without Community Assessment.

Wait listing is just a way to tell you upgrade. There is nothing like rolling over decision in Rice, it’s either Ya or Nah. Then push some to wait listing.

I dont know if you guys saw this somewhere else but here is a valuable information for everyone, especially for international students (I am
also an international student), which is the following:

Our GRE scores basically mean nothing once we pass the first round of shortlisting, which is basically interview phase for MBA. So if you got
an invite for interview, there is literally 0% chance your GRE score would have more impact on your application status.

GRE serves the "lazy" way to filter candidates (while of course it is not the only filter being applied). As long as your GRE or GMAT is not as low as
295 or 500 respectively, your decision is not made upon your GRE score.

So if you guys are applying for round 2, go improve other aspects of your application materials, not your GRE.

Best of luck to everyone, may we all get in our dream schools!

International students are specifically selected for their high scores. Coz there’s a lot of competition amongst them! More students with high scores impact the college’s overall ranking

This is only true for first round of selection, which means going from say 1000 candidates to 500 candidates, and later those 500 candidates will be invited for interview. But from that point on your GRE score dont matter any more.

So my point is, if you received your interview but then got accepted or waitlisted or rejected, your decision was not made up on your GRE score.

Congrats to those that have admits to Rice. Those that end up choosing Rice, we're here to welcome you all and help you in any capacity.

Getting an admit itself is a big accomplishment. Cheers from Rice!

I disagree with you because I got waitlisted in Darden and in the admissions call, they told me if I could improve my GMAT score I would have a chance to get in. That’s the only part that’s lacking in my application.
