Anyone from India got any interview invite so far?

I know I haven't. I'm not sure which is better at this point... an interview invite or a waiver followed by an invite! But I guess the anxiety of waiting for an invite after a waiver would kill me so I'd prefer the first. How soon after the R1 deadline did Indians receive interviews/waivers in R1?

Indians receive waivers? Would have been excite but I screwed up my video essays.

Anyone can get a waiver. The only significance it holds is that they were not able to match the candidate with a local alum. Considering the sheer number of indian candidates, it is common to receive a waiver.
My personal take - waivers suck for a school that interview almost all its applicants. It was also visible from the post of R1 candidates.
FurrowedBrow I'll recommend that you read the whole thread for the schools you've applied to. You'll learn more about the process.

I have actually, most of it in any case. Also, to answer my own question, about 3 weeks after the video interview is when you're likely to hear about an interview or lack thereof (based on anecdotal evidence from other Indian applicants in R1).

Is it just me or does it seem like everyone feels weird about how they performed in the video essay? It's just such an awkward experience and 60 seconds is brutal! I didn't kill mine but I didn't blow it either. It was fine. I guess.

Looking forward to my actual in-person interview where I can speak for more than 60 seconds!

Yeah, I blew it. I thought it was going to go well, because I was prepping on the practice questions for more than 1 hr. But the two questions I got were just so unexpected, and I panicked! Any R1 candidates who blew their video essay end up getting in?

Also, I'm just browsing through threads and saw people b*ing about video essay dates - can someone please summarize what that was all about?

My understanding is that the dates kept changing close to the decision day, and people were speculating what that meant. Like if your date was updated you were admitted. In the end it sounded like the changing dates meant nothing.

I've read about people totally bombing the video essay and getting in. I think its a very minor piece of the overall application so we should probably just try not to think about it =)

What dates changing close to decision day? I'm confused - were there different deadlines for the video essay or something?

Also, it's alright, looks like worse comes to worst we'll both be at Duke, which is not bad at all!

I'm assuming none of the R1 dings are still on here, but I randomly logged in today to download a copy of the app and noticed that my video essay dates have still been changing since 12/19.

Thoughts?

There's a bug in the system. May be Aragog has made its new den in Kellogg's app!
Yikes!

Hey, so where do you see these dates reflecting ? Is it in the application status page ?

Yes - it's on the application status page. Though I posted this mostly as another example to R2 candidates to not take those dates seriously at all like the R1's did!

Yea, for all of you R2'ers out there don't mind the video date changes. I honestly don't think it meant anything.

Although, it was kinda comical to watch this thread blow up every day around 9AM with people talking about their date change and their different theories on what it meant.

It's a good laugh when you read through some of these. At least it helped keep my mind at ease while I was stressing out about decisions...

:gl to all of you R2'ers out there!

Remember to #addtothemadness when the date changes come! ;-)

Ok so this is an honest endeavor to save the R2 hopefuls some real stress--
DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE VIDEO ESSAY DATES CHANGING LIKE THE HOUSTON WEATHER. We as a round 1 bunch did spend(read wasted) a lot of time speculating and I am not sure it was worth it. Invariably it ends up spiking your stress levels. So don't bother, it means nothing.

As far as the video essay goes, I did well on the first one but i slipped bigtime on the second . I could see how weird my face looked when I blanked out for about 5 sec in the mid of it. I blabbered randomly for the remainder of the essay and maybe spoke a line or two at the end as an attempt to put things in perspective . i am still not sure if I truly answered the question. lol As others have already stated on this forum, it is only one of the many parameters that the school considers and unless you behaved real obnoxiously in a way that can be seen as a total misfit in the kellogg community , it wont kill your chances . Good luck !

This may be a stupid question but I just got my interview invite from Kellogg for an off-campus interview. I know Kellogg tries to interview every candidate but does anyone know what % of off-campus applicants receive interview requests?

Where are you located? I think the only place it means anything is India (or so it seemed). I got mine the Monday after submitting on Saturday and don't think it means anything... Maybe tho!!
