You can definitely apply but you will have to choose to interview on-campus. You will not be able to get off-campus interview. Thats it. I hope you are located in the US.

I have question regrading the Kellogg Entrepreneurship Club: Is it open to all Kellogg students or just those who have already started an entrepreneurial venture in the past?

I have a question... I got in touch with a professor and some current students who helped me learn few specific details about the school.

Is it advantageous to mention their names in the essays Or should I refrain from doing so?
Is it a common practise to do so?

I would say if you can mention their names in a way that seems natural and not like you're just trying to drop names, then do it. It shows that you made the extra effort to contact people and learn more about the program.

Jivana - all Kellogg clubs are open to any Kellogg student (or JV), regardless of prior experience. Also, unlike some schools, almost all the student clubs here don't charge any annual dues, so if you're not sure if you want to get involved it's painless to join and check out if the club is for you.

I wonder if I can get anyone to take a look at my essays. It would be much appreciated.

I notice a few following things about Kellogg (besides the unique culture of collaboration):

1. Kellogg MBA students seem to be much more engaged in research compared to students at other MBA programs. For example, part of the culture statement includes "intellectual depth". In addition, the Global Initiatives in Management also publishes a few books and papers. I also read about students helping professors with their research. Is this observation true?

2. Students at Kellogg participate in conferences and case/business plan competitions a lot. (Again, more than other schools that I have done my homework on). Why is this so? Is it because the school encourage these activities as they strengthen teamwork, leadership and management skills?

Wow .. 63 pages! Looks like Kellogg is a hot favourite here!
What did I miss? :)

I am struggling with essay 3.
It says I have to evaluate my app from the perspective of a student member of the Adcom.
Does that mean I cannot provide any new information in this essay and have to comment on material presented elsewhere in the app?
If so, that would leave very little scope for me to talk about my application as *technically*,
I haven't even seen my LOR.
Would like to know how you guys are tackling this beast.

I didn't mention anything not in my application and since, I have not read my recommendation, I couldn't possibly mention anything in there as well.

*I alluded to something I expect to be in my recommendation though. But, I am having second thoughts about it as I type.

I used this essay to tie my themes together and expand on items on my resume or background (that is already in my profile) that haven't been discussed in details elsewhere. The benefit here is that you can make the most straight-forward case for your candidacy, and draw evidence from what you have presented so far. btw I also wrote in first person.

I think the key here is to understand what "student committee member" is looking for, and focus on the qualities that make you a desirable classmate and link it with your potential contributions

Was split between writing in first vs. third person... to be honest, think the question could be interpreted either way and don't think it makes that much of a difference, as long as the content is nailed.

I used the essay as a contribution essay and talked about specific ways that I will be an asset in the classroom and in extracurriculars.. technically I did say new things because I got really specific on some classes, clubs and activities at kellogg that I can directly contribute to and how I can do that, along with some new things that I would bring to the table.

I'm scheduled to interview on-campus this weekend. When I called to schedule the interview, I was told the time, dress code and to bring my resume.

For those of you that have already been through on-campus interviews: is there anything that must be done in addition to showing up on-time, dressed appropriately, with resume in hand? Do I need to email my resume to anyone, for example?

Thanks for your help.

I think that's pretty much all you need. Make sure you bring a pen, though, because they do ask you to fill out a short form when you get there.

Was anyone still waititing to hear on the R1 deadline (today)? A good friend never heard admit/WL/ding and his online profile still has not been updated... and it's past 5PM in Chicago. Not that I'm worried for him (already has some stellar admits in hand), but thought I'd reach out and ask.
