Applied to R2 - JD/MBA class of 2013.

Had my interview in December, with a local Alum.

Has anyone heard of any Canadians being admitted to the JD/MBA program?

Has your application status gone complete yet on their status checker?

I don't know what you mean by 'complete'. My status, after I received a confirmation that my recos are in, has not changed since -- some generic stuff like 'your app is complete. If the interview is completed, the file will be moved to the adcom for review'

I don't remember the exact wordings but something on these lines

Unplugged

Thanks, unplugged. I completed my interview last November, and I submitted my Part II on 1/14. My status checker is still not saying anything about having received my recommendations or interview. I'm getting a little worried. I called yesterday, and the person who answered the phone basically said be patient. I think I'm gonna call again next Monday.

I had my interview Dec 27, and submitted part II Jan 12. I seem to remember reading on the admissions blog that it may take a few weeks because of high volume... I'll wait until mid-February and then start worrying!

@milias,

I personally wouldn't call this early. The email specifically indicated that the status WILL change within 1-4 weeks after all the parts of your application are submtited. I'm pasting the text for your reference.Pls do not read too much in between the lines

"All the required elements of your application are complete.
If your interview has been completed, the application has been submitted for review to the admissions committee. If your interview has not been conducted, the application will be submitted to the admissions committee upon completion of the interview. The next status check update will be the admission decision (Admit, Waitlist or Deny). When a decision has been rendered, the Office of Admissions will send you an email notifying you to check your status for your decision. Decisions will be released throughout the round, but the majority of decisions will be released during the last several weeks of the round. "

As much as I hate to say it, just try to calm down.

Calling them will not alter the decision( my take). As I said, I submitted mine much before you all did. I just don't care anymore these days. There is no point in stressing too much

My understanding is that the adcom will contact those applicants they are interested in for a telephonic interview after an initial interview waiver. Have any R2 applicants got such a call for telephonic interview yet?

LOL, thanks! Mine just says:

"Thank you for your interest in the Kellogg School of Management.

"After Part II of your application has been submitted, the next update will confirm whether or not all application materials have been received. Due to the high volume of applications that are submitted near the application deadline, please allow several weeks of process time for our staff to match all materials sent under separate cover and to verify all required items have arrived. As applications are processed daily, we recommend periodically checking the status between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, Monday through Friday."

At this point, I'm not so worried about the decision yet, as much as that they will have all the necessary material to make that decision.

Niraja,

I think you should be fine as long as you call them and let them know your reason. In my experience, I have found Kellogg Admissions folks very understanding, so if it's a work, family, personal and/or health related issue, you should have no problem. Any other issues may not be looked at well (given its a day before the interview). But be sincere and you'll be fine.

Good luck.

Thanks for the opinion, its a health issue. I've decided to go interview anyway - maybe my committment will impress them. Now for the long 5 hour drive there....

Quick questions:

1) I submitted part I and still have not received any waiver nor any interview inviation, does that mean something?

2) One of my recommenders says he submitted and his online form says "submitted" but in MY app it says only "notified", it seems as if he had not submitted. How can that happen???

Thanks!!!

1. Did you request on-campus or off-campus interview? If on-campus, you are supposed to contact them, if off-campus, no worries yet, they say to contact them if you haven't heard in 6 weeks after submission.

2. I would contact them to clarify about the recommendation.

I used to think it's not unusual but now I've started to think it IS unusual.

I submitted mine much before you did( off campus interview). I still haven't heard anything from them

Cheers,

Has your application status gone complete yet on their status checker?

Mine just says submitted. Nothing else.

Same here. Submitted part 1 on 17/12 and part 2 on 14/01.
Applied for off-campus interview.
Haven't heard anything from them yet.

I recieved my off-capmus interiew invitation!!! Although I know Kellogg invites most of the applicants for interview, I am excited and nervous! This is my first application and invite :)

The school has provided me the mobile number and alumni email id of a local alum.
Should I shoot him an email to that alumni id and wait, or should I call him straight away?
Is there a set of questions that I must be familiar with? Please help.

To the guys who have been invited to an OFF campus interview: What does your status say in the status checker?

My interview was completed Dec 27, and my application submitted Jan 12. Status checker currently says:
After Part II of your application has been submitted, the next update will confirm whether or not all application materials have been received. Central Standard Time, Monday through Friday.

Because decisions probably won't start rolling out until March, if there is no update by mid-Feb, I'll call then.
