for those of you who did the interview on campus with an adcom or student, did you send a thank-you email afterwards? I know a thank-you would be nice when the interview is off campus with an alumni, because he/she made an effort to meet you. But for adcom or student, would a thank-you email seem totally unnecessary and desperate?

Is the adcom or student's time less valuable than the alumni's? If not, then you should send a thank you. You're thanking the person for taking time out of their day to meet with you. Besides, it's better to be seen as overly gracious than ungrateful.

thought I saw it somewhere that if it's adcom or current student, then a thank-you note is unnecessary...

now I'm worried :( I didn't send a thank-you note... :(

What's done is done, and it's not really a make or break either way I don't think. However, if that's what keeps you out of Kellogg, you probably wouldn't want to be there anyways...

Sorry to say bro, but that's a very stupid question in the first place. I'm surprised someone was gracious to answer that. And you also follow it up with more!!
No one will ever tell you that a TY note is unnecessary . It will not make the interviewer's day if you send him a note, it's basic courtesy .
Cheers
wg

One month to go before knowing the result... i'm re-watching all the past episodes of The Office to kill time. Hopefully once I'm done with it it will be decision time already

Ladies and Gentlemen, I've been waived. Indian applicant - submitted Part 1 on the 18th of Sep - and I just heard back that they waived my interview to move my application forward in the review process. With the Booth and HBS so-far-snubs I'm having a nice warm feeling in my stomach right now.

Just submitted Part I last night for R2. Gonna call them on Friday to schedule an on-site interview. Does anyone know if there're still on-site interview slots left during Thanksgiving week?

Just finished my interview. Standard set of questions but one that threw me for a loop.

"What was your GMAT?"

Obvi not that hard to respond but why she asked is killing me. Can't tell if it's good/bad/neither that she asked.

Anyone ever get that question before? I know it prob has little/no meaning but I can't shake it.

Ugh...Long month or two ahead.

Man!! your profile and the interview got waived??

Could someone throw some light on whether a waiver usually means anything???

I got a couple of emails from the adcom that said they did it so that they could move my application along in the review process. I am not exactly sure they are aware of your 'profile' before they send out the interview requests because they interview everyone. I contacted some students and alums I know and heard they do that to Indian applicants sometimes.

Personally I've heard it doesn't bode well, even though the admissions office reassured me multiple times that doesn't reflect badly and that an admissions officer will call you if they are genuinely interested in learning more about you.
