Michael Geneser called me while I was at lunch. IM IN!!!!!!!!! So pumped. Also, my wife finally got back in touch with Beth-so-Flye, she's in too W/ A BIG SCHOLARSHIP! Very life changing.

We both interviewed on 9/27 and submitted the day of or day before the deadline. I have no idea why they've been making me sweat it out these last two days but now I'm SO pleased.

Congrats!! It's stressful enough for one person to wait to find out if they got in somewhere, let alone two people at the same place! So glad it worked out for you two.

Not to take it off topic but In part that's due to the impression/fact that we have a lot more men than women on the boards and women get hit on.... :(
The guys are to be blamed...
[/quote]

If that's true, that's unfortunate. What's the point of hitting on a woman (or a female name) on the internet? It seems like a waste of time. Of course I'm a happily married guy so I'm not going to b-school for the dating scene. :)

Hey guys,

I'm an applicant from India. I got a call from a +3444 number (I'm guessing it's a skype call) but the phone rang only once and then disconnected. Didn't hear anything after that. Is it usual for internationals to get Skype calls on admission or is it only email notifications?

Thanks!

I know this is a very stressful time for people (including myself). One of my peers at work is a Kellogg alum and reached out to a contact within the Admissions Office (not an Ad-com member itself though). Was told that the reason things are perceived 'slow' and why decisions are being rolled out this way is because they literally are still making final decisions for a large group of students. In other words, if you haven't received a decision, it is because they just haven't decided yet.

One interesting thing she said was that it is more than likely those who are to receive fellowship/scholarship dollars will find out much sooner than others simply because those decisions are made in a sort of priority listing down until every last available dollar is used.
+1 thanks for the info.

Great info, but I'm having a hard time processing this in with everything else that we've heard so far (as it's slightly conflicting with what someone else said earlier). Before someone said that Adcom is trying to get most stuff out by Monday, but this would imply that they still have a lot left to do and consequently we'll see more acceptances throughout next week up until the deadline.

So... what will it be? Most everything completed by Monday? Lots of decisions still to come through the end of next week?

In my opinion, the source that said they're trying to get everything out my Monday was wrong. The AdCom told two of us today that admits will keep coming out until 12/20. Also, people are still interviewing and acceptances came out until 5pm on the final day last year.

I mean, to put it bluntly, "does it matter?"

If you are thinking whether to proceed with R2, you should've or might as well start. At this point, your risk greatly outweighs the benefit of waiting. If you wait more, you may end up in R3, which is never an ideal place to be.

If you are just waiting then, knowing or not knowing won't affect you. I felt great about my Kellogg apps so when people with similar stats get accepted, I get encouraged. But at the end of the day, it's never about them. It's about you and ad com. They will call if they like you. They will send you an e-mail if they dont' like you.

I'M IN!!!! i'm a US citizen but currently working in Peru so i wasn't sure if they would call or email me... just got an email with the subject line: Update from Kellogg

Dear bei,

Congratulations on your admission to Kellogg!

My colleagues and I are very excited to share this great news with you. In fact, we wanted to do so directly, by telephone, but were unable to reach you.

Please know that we are truly delighted to welcome you to Kellogg and we look forward to seeing you on campus.
You will receive your official admissions packet within the next three weeks. This packet will include your formal admissions letter, as well as your Kellogg ID and password to access our admitted student website. On this site, you will find comprehensive information about Kellogg programs, academics, key deadlines, housing, financial aid and more.
In order to receive this information before your admissions packet arrives, please contact me directly at xxx

Our admitted student weekend, Day at Kellogg (DAK), is the weekend of February 11. We hope you can attend, as this annual event provides a firsthand look at the school’s vibrant culture. On the admitted student website, you will see more information about DAK and how to register.

Once again — congratulations on becoming part of Kellogg!

Warmest regards,
Michael Geneser
Assistant Director of Admissions
Kellogg School of Management

AdCom leaves voicemails, so I don't think you need to.
