So it seems focus is finally beginning to shift to R2 applicants at Kellogg applicants. I had submitted my part 1 application way back on 28th Sep and got an off-campus interview waiver yesterday night from Michael Geneser.

Indian applicant / 770 GMAT / 5 years of real estate experience

Wonder if they will be processing any applications before the Christmas Holidays....

Hi Deepak,

I was surprised when i got a waiver. I suppose they are waiving off apps from India. Even i received the waiver yesterday.
Does this mean anything for our chances of selection?

I don't think off campus interview waivers have got anything to do with chances of selection. A lot of R1 applicants who initially got waivers were eventually sent telephonic interview invites upon review of their applications. So hang in there and hope for the best.

crazy question probably...but just wondering: dinged round 1 at Kellogg, am I allowed to apply Round 2? Most schools specifically say No, but I can't find anything excluding re-applying the same year on the Kellogg website...

If you are dinged in round 1 you aren't going to be admitted in R2 even if you are allowed to apply...which I dont believe you are. My advice, strengthen your application and reapply next year if you really want to attend Kellogg.

I received an interview waiver on 2-Nov and then on 5-Nov got an email about a telephonic interview. Am from India and got my admit on 10-Dec. Haven't been able to read much into this.

So...I attended a kellogg info session in NYC, but never visited the school. Does actually going to visit them have any affect on the waitlist. i.e. they think I'm more likely to attend

While uploading the essays, is everyone including the essay prompt in the beginning of the document? It's probably only relevant for the 4th essay but I'm thinking of doing it for all the essays to be consistent unless it's not recommended.

Just had my Kellogg interview, off campus with an alum. Really nice guy, asked standard questions, Why MBA, Why Kellogg, tell me about your job, and a general leadership question. Odd to think that aside from submitting the essays its a loooooong wait ahead. Is there anything that anyone else did in between submitting Part 2 and decision date, or is it just waiting time? Also, I have not had a chance to visit campus yet, I know this was touched on before, but would "showing face" at campus improve chances?

For Part 1: Long-term career goal prompt, what level of detail is recommended?

I think the more detail the better as long as you can fit it into the word limit, and near-term goals should be more detailed than long-term ones. I talked about the three major phases I planned for my career, and for each, I talked about why it was important and what I expected to learn. I only included potential companies and titles for the first phase.
Hope that's helpful!

Zorro, that's quite helpful even though I didn't ask the question :) I assume by the first phase, you mean long-term?

By the first phase, I meant the job immediately following graduation from Kellogg - that's where I think they would want the most detail. I got more vague with the subsequent jobs b/c who knows what the industry will look like 10+ years down the road?
