I submitted Part 1 in R1 (Oct first week) and got tied up with other schools and hence could not fill part 2 in R1. Currently writing kellogg essays :)

As I posted before, kellogg will give out most big name scholarships (Austin, ArcelorMittal, etc.) during the call. However, they give out additional scholarships/grants with financial aid packages. I had a name scholarship which isn't on their list of scholarships and have friends who had named ones and company ones not on lists posted. There are also a lot of unnamed scholarships. They typically range from 5-15k where as the big ones are usually half/full rides.

My advice for all admits who are deciding, complete the financial aid packages and when you get that you may find out what else you are getting besides a bunch of loans. Approximately 1/3rd of students get scholarships of some amount.

River Ripper,

I am in the same boat as a previous poster. I was admitted to Kellogg MMM (with scholarship), Harvard, and I hope to get in to MIT LGO. Harvard students have been very proactive calling me and spotlighting the great parts of their program. What it is about Kellogg, from your perspective, that would make you pick it again over other top tier programs? That is my dilemma.

Briefly assess your career progress to date. Elaborate on your future career plans and your motivation for pursuing an MBA. (600 word limit)

Question: Do we mention why Kellogg in this question? I have tons of things I want to mention around Why Kellogg. But it just mentions "pursuing an MBA". How have you guys approached the last part of the question?

I guess why Kellogg can be better covered in Q2 and Q3 too but thought will ask the smart people here who have already been accepted to Kellogg :)

Thanks!

r2hopeful,

In question #1 I highlighted my work experiences in my past and how they inspired me to want to continue that trend in a new arena as a business leader. Next, I talked about what my admitted weak areas were that the Kellogg program could improve to become a successful business leader. Once honing these skills, I conveyed how I would use them in my desire career path. Hope this helps. I really tried to focus on leadership in all of my essays and show how I wanted to continue to give back to society and have a higher purpose.

Count me in for R2.

25M/4 years work ex, education/non-profit
770 GMAT, 3.95 GPA

Anyone know if Kellogg usually has a higher percentage of admits in R1 than R2? Noticed that gmatclub applicants had about a 32% acceptance rate for R1

Wow, Kellogg is so annoying... i didn't realize that rd2 off campus interview request must be by Dec 15, which I'm already late for.

I guess I either have to change it to on-campus or decide not to apply. Stupid of me for procrastinating.

It's even more frustrating knowing the fact that all you have to submit for part 1 that requires some work is your resume.

Not necessarily.
I submitted part1 two weeks after the off-campus request deadline and requested an off-campus interview (I figured it never hurts to try), and indeed I was assigned an off-campus interview.

Wow, thanks for the info. I'll try that tonight... will submit part 1 with off-campus interview and see if that'll work.

Were you accepted? I'm just worried that that's just an avoidable red flag on my app.

Just scheduled on-campus interview on Friday January 28th. I'm planning to tour school, etc. the day before, on Thursday. Any one else from here headed to Northwestern that day?

They wont hold it against you. As long as it gets there within a reasonable time and all your items are complete. People realize that you can't control your recommenders, especially late in the year when lots of things can come up before the holidays.
