For those who just submitted, does your "check app status" work?

Thanks...

Thanks...

This is the response that I get from Check App Status:
"We have received Part I of application.

After Part II of your application has been submitted and reviewed, the next update will confirm whether or not all application materials have been received. Due to the high volume of applications, please allow several weeks of processing time for us to verify that all required items are complete. We recommend that you check this site periodically for the next update to your application."

Sounds like you may not see a change here for a while. Just make sure in the actual application that Part I, II, and the recommendations all show submitted and then you have to wait for admissions to verify that they have everything.

Ah; I just submitted my part 1 also; it appears that the Kellogg check status account does not get created until they at least receive your part 1.

Congrats!!!! Same thing here. It feels like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders.. I am sure this feeling will soon be replaced by anxiety on interview invites for other schools and Kellogg alumni interview preparation. What should i do with all my spare time now that i cant study for GMAT, research schools, or edit an essay for the 100th time?

I finally decided to do what a lot of you said - highlight smaller details NOT in essays + a bit from essays in #3, and I went with third person.
Called out little org involvement from College or "justified" a career switch saying "aha i've seen my fellow 2nd years make that jump, so he's not blowin smoke up our ears...

Submitted at 11pm last night, my 5th and final application. Looking forward to not writing any more essays for awhile.

Now all I can do is prep for my interview with a local alum Sunday, and wait for news from UCLA and Haas this week, then Kellogg and HBS in late March.

I am about to submit part 2 of my application. I got a mail waiving my off campus interview request. Does Kellogg reconsider this waiver after part 2 of the application is submitted? I guess getting a waiver is not a good sign of things to come..... yikes!

My R2 application is all set - I'm just waiting for my last recommender to submit, and then I'll submit the application. I hope he gets it done early today and saves me a spike in blood pressure :)

From what I understand a waiver isn't a good or bad thing--it could just mean you live in a remote area that's not near any alum interviewers.

It's possible you could request a phone interview--any R1'ers have input on this?

Emont/LSEguy, from my experience (i have applied twice) waiver in no way reflect anything about the strength of the applicant. They just give waivers to the candidates who live in a remote area or in an area that has too many interview requests. You cannot request a phone interview. If Adcom finds your profile promising, they will ask you to schedule an interview. Last year, I got a waiver initially and then was asked to schedule an telephonic interview. So I would suggest that just relax, keep your fingers crossed and try to compensate for the lost evenings/weekends that you spent working on apps :)

I am in the same boat! Just received a mail saying that there's an overwhelming number of interview requests in my area and they dont want to overburden alumni!

Frankly speaking I wanted the interview-it's an additional data point and I'd already prepared too :(

Any inputs whether this is a good/bad/neutral sign will be greatly appreciated.
Any R1 admits whose interview were waived?

Thanks a lot for replying!

Also just hit submit for R2... also my last one for a WHILE -- hopefully forever.

I also agree -- definitely introduce new info into the third essay. The way I do things in life, if I have a choice of interpretation, I always pick what I would prefer. (unless its immoral or unethical)

As I learned in the military, its always better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission :) Assume the best!

Even I just received the interview waiver mail. I had applied to the 1 Year Program.

Profile: M/28/India/730/5+ yrs consumer goods experience

If I were an adcom and if there is an overload of interview requests in a particular area, I would schedule interviews for the promising profiles and waive off the rest.

However, since I am not adcom, all this is just conjecture.

Hope for the best

Adcom told me that it's okay for the recommendations to be submitted a bit late like a day or 2. So as long as your part 2 is submitted on time you're fine. However, your application would be marked incomplete until the recommendations are submitted.
