Any idea when these interview assignment or waivers come through. I submitted my Part I a few days before the deadline and Part 2 at the deadline. No emails from my friends in Evanston yet. What gives??

Did you ask for on campus or off campus? Are you in an area that likely has a lot of Kellogg alums, or are you in the middle of nowhere?

I'm in the midwest in a fairly major city. I personally know 3 alums and requested an off campus interview. I would imagine there would be quite a few Kellogg alums here.

Hmm, no idea what to tell you then--I submitted Part 1 on December 10 then got my interview notice last Friday. It's still far from panic time, I'm sure you'll be fine.

After visiting old threads (including a post by a Kellogg Alum Batch 2010), it seems that Waiver is a neutral thing to begin with. After Adcom reads your app, and likes it, then it will offer you an interview - either telephonic with an Adcom member or an Alum i/v if possible. However, if it does not like you, then you'll be dinged w/o interview.

As such, if u haven't received any news yet from Kellogg, then just wait - u'll either get a waiver or i/v schedule. Nothing else. All the best!

Got my interview waiver on 11th. Was worried about how it impacts my application. But after reading so many others receiving waiver, I am feeling little bit relieved now.

Recently discovered this forum. Count me in for Round 2! No word on the off-campus interview request yet. I'm an expat based in China.

Submitted my app in R2.
Got an interview waiver. Not sure how it works but is it just a polite way of saying 'We do not need any more information to reject you' ?

See upthread (around the R1 deadline) for the same discussion about waivers. They are nothing except an indication of the number of applicants in your area relative to the number of interviewers. I believe one of the Kellogg students even mentioned that waiver decisions are made before the applications are read, which means they cannot possibly be dinging you at this point.

Relax :)

I know the essays are important and what not but i cant imagine they would waive applicants based on a simple random sampling in the city/country area. Why not look at Part 1 and waive all the people below or above an arbitrary threshold (i.e. 6XX GMAT, 2.X GPA, X+ years WE), then after reading part 2 and liking an applicant, give them an alum i/v or telephone interview. B-Schools seem far too calculated to be handing these out on a "random" basis in high concentrated areas. However, if that is what the R1 people and previous applicants are saying, i guess i have to believe it. Maybe I'll try to consult for Kellogg Adcom and move them to invite to interview process or at least redefine their waiver procedure.

Looking back at when the R1 decisions were released, it looks like Adcom begins releasing decisions 2 weeks before the deadline. I thought I was going to get in for R1, so I submitted Part 1 in Sept and interviewed in October, but was not happy with my essays so I submitted those for R2. So I guess this means I get to sit and wait out 2+ months of pure silence!! Anyone else in the same boat? This is the worst! At least with the other schools I applied to, there'll be some action in Feb.

Same thing here, although I posed this question of what, if anything, should we do during this time and riverripper said that it's just a sit and wait thing as we don't want to annoy the admissions staff. Makes sense though.
