My R2 application is all set - I'm just waiting for my last recommender to submit, and then I'll submit the application. I hope he gets it done early today and saves me a spike in blood pressure
Adcom told me that it's okay for the recommendations to be submitted a bit late like a day or 2. So as long as your part 2 is submitted on time you're fine. However, your application would be marked incomplete until the recommendations are submitted.

Thanks. I'll definitely make sure my part is submitted on time even if his isn't.
"We are waiving your interview requirement so as not to delay the submission or processing of your application.
Please be assured that this waiver will in no way negatively impact your candidacy. The Admissions Committee understands and expects these conditions and will certainly take them into consideration when reviewing your application. The interview is a single factor in your evaluation and is by no means the most important criterion for admission. The committee will contact you personally if they feel they need further clarification on any aspect of your file.
We appreciate your interest in the Kellogg School of Management. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at (847) 491-5805 or send an email to [email protected]"

Don't know how this impacts the decision

Anyone else think Kellogg should just cut the facade of interviewing every candidate and do it by invitation only? It seems to work well for every other school - plus it allows you to find out sooner if you don't get in (don't get an interview).

I agree. It seems as the number of applicants go up, Kellogg will shift to an 'interview by invitation' policy. Interviewing every candidate that applies is seriously a challenging job!
Anybody in the Bay Area got an interview assignment or waiver for 2Y ? I am an international.

I'm in the bay area and haven't received anything ye. I'm international too but I recently received a green card though... I submitted part 1 on the 15th when did you submit yours? I wonder if the bay area qualifies as one of the areas of high demands.
Another interview question: I submitted Part I yesterday, and went going back through my application to submit Part II I noticed I left the interview check boxes blank and now can't change them. Should I contact admissions and let them know my preference?
International from Europe, but I am a country bumpkin. So only a few Kellogg alumni in my region and most are located in the capitol. Hence I am not surprised by waiver due to alumni manpower. Some other applicants from my region got waivers last year too.
At least there are Kellogg alumni in my country. I heard a story from an applicant in Vietnam and the closet alum available for interview is based in Singapore.
are all these interview waivers for international students or are there actually people being waived from large us based metro cities?

Based on posts in R1/2, I think mostly internationals (India, China and Europe). few alumni dispersed over a large catchment area. Apparently there is a high volume of application from India and China. You get the picture.
Any idea when these interview assignment or waivers come through. I submitted my Part I a few days before the deadline and Part 2 at the deadline. No emails from my friends in Evanston yet. What gives??
