Just got back from my R2 interview with an alum - she was very friendly, and the interview was more of a conversation. She asked me the standard questions: Why MBA? Why Kellogg? Specific questions about items on the resume How would I contribute to the Kellogg community? My long term goals Specific questions about my startups Instance when I had a disagreement with my colleagues/manager Any questions for her Overall I think it went pretty well. She made me feel comfortable, and started off the interview by introducing herself. We had about 10 minutes at the end for my questions about Kellogg. The total interview lasted about 45 minutes.

Based in Chicago. I just received my off-campus alumni interview assignment. The guy actually works in the same building as me, so it will be pretty convenient.

This is a dumb question, but we have to wear a suit to the interview, right? I don't have a suit, so I probably need to go and buy one.

In the following Kellogg essay for part-time applicants, should the candidate limit his/her experiences to personal experiences only? Is a dilemma faced in the workplace not the appropriate answer to this question?
"Describe the most difficult personal dilemma you have encountered thus far in life and what you learned from it."

Better safe than sorry--I've always heard interviews are in suits unless the interviewer specifically says otherwise.

You're going to need one anyways at b-school and for job interviews--might as well get one now.

I'm in Chicago and haven't heard yet either. When you submitted Part 2 should be irrelevant.

I'm not too concerned yet - there's no possible way they won't have enough local alumni to interview us. If I don't hear in another week or so, I'm going to contact the admissions office.

Interview scheduled for first week of Feb in southeast US w/ admissions counselor. I've heard Kellogg interviews are not that selective and that most applicants get one - is this true? Good luck to everyone!!
