Same. Any one else in the States, particularly in the Chicago area still waiting for an invite?

Just heard back! Good luck to those that are still waiting.

Does anyone know how many interviews Kellogg gives out as compared to their admit #s?

I just got a NY area interview.

Applied 2nd Round
am F, 710 (much stronger verbal score), 3.4 at an Ivy (but in a fuzzy major, not quantitative at all), dual-sport D1 athlete

Almost everyone receives an interview in some form or the other (kellogg is one of few schools that does that). If someone is waived from interviewing, they are phone-screened at a later point (if they are deemed eligible for admit). I am not sure what is the exact number of 'waived' candidates, but its probably not a large number.

Good luck with your interview.

I submitted Kellogg as a reapplicant this year. Had a good interview but now when relooking at the application, I realise at one place I do not mention the correct school name in one instance in one essay. Is that a sure ding?

During an info session, Beth Flye (admissions director) had mentioned that this is probably the most common obvious mistake that she comes across in essays. She also mentioned that reviewers dont like seeing names of other schools in essays since it makes them look recycled.

That being said, I wouldn't think its a sure ding, if you have added sufficient research and enough passion about kellogg in your essays.

Just keep your fingers crossed. I dont think you can do anything about the typo... so don't worry.

Maybe other gmatclubbers can add more to this.

Hello,

Does anyone know how hard it is to get parking at Kellogg? So even with the parking pass from admissions, will it be only for a couple of hours? Are there any other options?

Thanks!

When I visited in November, it was pretty easy. I parked on a street, walked to admissions to get a pass that was good for all day, then parked next to the red line stop and walked in. Just make sure you allow yourself 30 minutes or so to do it. You may be able to find street parking, but most of it seemed to be reserved for residents.

I also found this link (see shaded area in legend for visitors parking): https://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/execed/images/evanston_campus_map.pdf

Invite with a adcom member in DC area. Probably makes no difference, but I'm glad it's with a member of the committee. Good luck to all :)

Thats one of the mistakes most candidates are likey to make. I almost made the mistake but just before submitting I asked my friend to scan through my essays to give me any comments and thankfully he spotted the name of the other school. After that, I always made it a point to use ctrl + F to search for all the school names I applied to.

Though it may look bad, I wouldn't think it is a case of sure ding! They say that don't recycle but I am quite sure that they are also aware of the fact that almost all the candidates recycle their essays for different B School applications. I am sure they also know that you are among few unlucky ones who left the proof of that. So I would advise just don't worry too much and hope that the persons who review your application are a bit realistic and practical people (which most likely will be) :)

My resume format had changed slightly in between submitting my Haas application and doing my interview--Haas provided my interviewer with a copy of my old version, so I brought along a copy of the new one to give him which worked out fine. That was no issue with him.

My Kellogg alum interviewer requested my resume by email so I'm assuming Kellogg didn't send it to her. I also brought a copy to the interview which helped since she forgot to bring one. Just bring your latest resume and you'll be fine, the interviewer isn't going to care if it's slightly different than the one you submitted with your application.

How bad it is also depends on which essay it happens in. If it's in a career goals essay or an essay that isn't very school specific, it won't be seen as bad as if it's in the "why Kellogg" essay. Adcom likes to think that your reasons for attending Kellogg would be different enough from your reasons for attending school XYZ to preclude recycling.
