With a lot of alums working in consulting (especially recent grads), its might be possible to have difficulty scheduling interviews. I actually had to reach out to admissions because I travel for work a lot and an interviewee was a consulting and had an equally difficult time setting up time with me. In the end I got admissions to reassign him to another interviewer. I have also been the second person scheduled to interview someone.

It happens, dont stress if you cant get a time to work with a person. Dont pressure them too much about getting it in, be understanding and work to get an agreeable time or reach out to admissions.

So I had my interview yesterday with Adcom member as I think the students were busy with DAK.

One question I wanted to ask you folks is that the adcom gave me a business card in which the email address is the generic mba admission's email ID. Now if I were to send her a thank you note, how do I do it? Would it be better to send her a thank you card at the mailing address or should I pursue admission's office for her email? What do you guys suggest?

Thanks

I mailed thank you cards to all three of my interviewers so far, but I think an email would work provided it was a personal email address and not just "[email protected]."

But in your case a card sent to Mr./Ms. XXXXXX at the main admissions address would be the best bet. Just keep it short, no more than about 3-4 sentences, and try to reference something specific you discussed during the interview--i.e. "thank you for the opportunity to discuss the Kellogg MBA program etc...your comments about club XYZ/Kellogg's culture/career placement opportunities confirmed many of the perceptions that interested me in Kellogg in the first place...thank you and I will keep you updated as to my status."

I'm not sure if an AdCom interview gets filed pretty quickly so it's possible he/she would have already filed his report by the time the card arrives, but it can't hurt. I remember my alum interviewer saying she had a week to submit her writeup, so my card definitely had time to get to her before her deadline.

I don't really know but I'd say that a week before the deadline sounds about right. Less than that would not leave enough time for the adcom to review your application. Maybe R1 applicants have a better answer...

To those who have applied, or are considering applying to the Kellogg Part-Time MBA program: Could you please help me with some information. I am located outside the greater Chicago area (on the West Coast actually), and I plan on applying to the Kellogg Saturday MBA program. I know an interview is required for application. From the web site it appears that an on-campus interview in Chicago is the only kind of interview that is permitted -- there is no option for an off-campus interview. Is this correct? I plan on scheduling a class visit later, but I due to a lot of upcoming travel, I would find it very difficult to travel to Chicago for an interview before the March 18th deadline for Round 1.

Is an off-campus interview possible for part-time applicants? Has anybody done that? What would you suggest I do? (I have lot of information about the program, having interacted with Kellogg part-time alums and having visited the campus informally a couple of years ago).

It's weird, I'm not able to edit anything in the document. I didn't have this problem when I edited the LBS document...

I am preparing for my R2 interview next week at Kellogg. I see that there are a lot of interview reports on this thread but they are mostly about alumni interviews that were done off-campus.

Can folks who interviewed on the Kellogg campus with the AdCom provide some feedback? From what I have gathered so far, the common questions are:
- Why MBA, why Kellogg
- Walk me through your resume
- Your leadership style

Seems like alumni interviews had a broader range of questions but it's quite possible that my input data for AdCom interview-questions is not broad enough.

Thanks a bunch!!

rg - the part-time program's application process is completely separate from the full-time program, so I'm not sure if there are off-campus interviews. Your best bet is to contact the admissions office and ask them whether you could schedule an interview in your current city.
