when will Kellogg give final result to the interviewed candidates? thx

The best guess is the period from next week until the deadline (December 20th).

I asked this question during my interview and the answer was ... "The earliest you will hear is a couple of days before Dec 20th". So its still about 3 weeks away ...

That would be different from how Kellogg has communicated their decisions for the last several years. Admissions is very good at managing expectations so I would not expect them to disclose the exact date that people will start to receive decisions. I'm going to be watching my phone (optimistically) and my email (pessimistically) starting Monday.

Guys, can someone shed some light on this timeline?

I'm one of the waived candidates who has some, but not much, hope left.

Feedbacks will be highly appreciated.

Where are you guys that had interview waived from?

Did Kellogg explain the reasons for the waived?

I think to begin with they say that they cannot interview some candidates because of the high volume in that area. But then again some of those candidates get a request for a phone interview directly from Kellogg.

Again Kellogg's website says that " Each year, many applicants who receive waivers are admitted to Kellogg."

Hey all,

I have a question about this essay question from Kellogg:
Describe your key leadership experiences and evaluate what leadership areas you hope to develop through your MBA experiences (600 word limit).

My initial strategy has been to talk about 2 key leadership situations, describe them in detail- challenges, objectives and results, and then talk about evaluation of areas I hope to develop. Doing the above is stretching the essay to beyond 850 words :( Going any shorter than that is making my examples miss out on details.

I am now wondering if I should talk about only one key leadership example, and then about the evaluation part? Whats bothering me though is that Kellogg asks for "leadership experiences" and not a single example.

Maybe a better strategy would be to breifly talk about multiple leadership examples without going into much detail? Like maybe 150 words each about 2 examples?

I am wondering how you all tacked this essay question and still kept it within 600 words.... I really wish this was a 1000 word limit essay.

Ok so i got a question for you folks. I submitted my part1 for round 1 but did not submit my essays for rd 1. I know it sounds kinda stupid but I felt I wasnt very clear about my career goals and I stalled at the last minute. Do you think its worthwhile to submit an application for round 2? Has anyone here done it before? Would i be an Auto-ding candidate or do I have any modicum of a chance ?

I think you can give the Admissions Office a call. Matthew Peddleton who sites there is very helpful usually. But I would tend to think that if Part II goes in during Round 2 then you are considered for Round 2.

I received a interview waiver from Kellogg on 11/13/2010. I still wanted to be proactive and seek out an alumnae to speak to in my area (Shanghai) since I felt l like I was missing out on speaking to and asking questions of an alum 1 on 1. My friend introduced me to a Kellogg alum and we sat down for 2 hours to chat. Long story short, he had never heard of interview waivers and wanted to investigate. I was forwarded the email chain from the head of the alumni committee in Shanghai and from someone on the admissions committee which reads,

"In terms of your question below, there are certain areas where we are reviewing applications prior to requesting an interview due to the high demand of applicants. This is the case for high demand areas in China and appears to be the situation for xx. If an interview is needed, then we will reach out to the candidate to schedule an interview.

If alumnae xx is interested in passing along a word of support, he/she can forward that to the admission office to be included in the applicant’s file."

Thoughts?

This is exactly what we try to get across to people who get waivers. They will schedule phone interviews with individuals who they feel they may admit. If you have a waiver and dont get an interview invite, well sorry to say you wont be admitted since Kellogg interviews 100% of admits.

If the alumni passes along a word of support it may help your cause but it wont be a make or break.

I checked with the Adcom specifically on whether Kellogg admits any candidates without an interview (in person or telephonic) and he said "Yes, we do". So I guess that means that Kellogg does admit candidates without any form of interview also?
