Hi guys. Do you think that there is some hope left for those who were waived in R1 and still haven't received a phone interview invitation???????

I'd appreciate some light on the process' timeline.

thanks,

brz

If it is of any use, my telephonic interview invite had the following mentioned:

"We will be conducting phone interviews on a first come first serve basis between now and November 23rd."

I got an invite for an alum interview today. I'm a Round 2 applicant. I submitted my part 1 early Oct, probably about 5-6 weeks ago.

Woahhh... nice. R2 getting invites. I submitted my part 1 and am waiting on a R2 invite also. I figured that we wouldn't see them for a while given the way R1 invites were coming along.

My app status is still "submitted" :?

Anyone in this situation?

Thanks!

Got a shock when suddenly saw a email saying you are invited from Kellogg.
It is some event in India.
Did any other US based people get this?
Wait for the elusive phone interview continues after the waiver.

Mine still says "submitted" as well. Does this mean that the Interviewer did not send in his/her report yet?

No if it says submitted the interview may well have been submitted. I wouldn't spend too much time staring at that page. You will get a call or email to let you know about your decision.

In for R2. Please add me to the rollcall.
Working on the essays..

Question for alumni/current students/R1 applicants: How strictly should I follow the word limits? I heard from a current student while visiting Kellogg that he had gone above by as much as 25-30% in jhis essays. I am planning to play safe and stay within +5% or so. Any suggestions on the contrary?

Thanks

Count me in for the R2, did not manage to submit application for R1. I am still working on my essays, thought I get the knack of it after writing essays for some other Bschool applications in R1. But then pundits say one shall tailor essays to individual Bschool and don't copy and paste. I deliberately warmed up with some other applications first to develop a feeling as people say that Kellogg essays are tricky and avoid doing K as your first application without warm-ups.

Is anyone here applying to their 1yr program? Any insights on how that works? Is the same application/essays as the regular 2yr?

Yes, I did. It's exactly the same process, except it asks for you to list the required courses for entry into the 1Y program.

I was wondering if at Kellogg one can take courses outside the business school for credit towards the MBA degree.

For example can I take a course from the Psychology department.

If yes, can anyone tell me how many such courses outside the business school would count towards the degree, thank you
