Hi zepper, could you please let us know when you submitted your Part 1 application? I submitted mine on 28th September and I am yet to hear anything from the ADCOM. Appreciate your response.

Long time lurker. First post because this is the first activity I've received from Kellogg. I'm an American based in Shanghai, China, and I just received my interview waiver today. Any China based applicants receive an interview? Or if you received a waiver, did you receive an telephone interview request?

Just thought I'd share. :)

I'm from the Philippines and was interviewed a couple of weeks back by an alumnus.

I enjoyed it in general as he was more than excited to talk about his experiences in Kellogg as he was to interview me. Of course, there are always things that could've gone better.

At the end he mentioned that he would love to see me get in but he's not the adcom so wouldn't really know what kind of competition was out there. Even said he might email me should he forget/need any more detail. I told him that was great of him.
Afterwards I emailed to thank him for his time and told him to feel free to ask should he have any questions. He replied that he had already submitted my report and he wishes me luck regardless of the outcome. Reflecting back, could that have been some test on integrity? HAHA. I mean I was just happy and wasn't looking for any unfair advantage at all but now I wonder if I shouldn't have heeded. Hope I'm just being paranoid? :S

Is it possible to use a different recommender after both recommendations have already been posted? I haven't submitted part 2 yet, planning on R2, so they haven't read them, but I think I would rather use a former co-worker as my second recommender now instead of a second supervisor from my current company. I think it will add a different perspective to my application. I don't see a way on the site to add a third and delete one of the others. Thanks!

I would contact Kellogg Admissions. I am sure they would be willing to help you.

That being said, almost everything you read will tell you to use supervisors over coworkers, unless specifically asked. I would just make sure your reasoning is sound. I am sure you have thought of that, though.

The consultant I was working with on a different school said there's not much to be gained from a letter from a second supervisor at the same place of business, especially if I worked on the same projects with both of them. That seems to make sense. I felt the former co-worker could give a perspective on my abilities as a team member, especially in the hectic place we worked and how I inspired her to her success now (which she definitely attributes to me)

Does it look bad if I contact admissions and ask them to switch the recommender though? I don't want them to think I don't value the time of my other recommender who already put one in for me.
