mangoman, phone interviews with kellogg adcom are typically 30 mins long. they are usually conducted for shortlisted guys from the pool which receives an interview waiver.
what % of this interview pool gets accepted is something that continues to intrigue me. anyone has any thoughts? rgupta83? cheetarah?- what's your take on it.
exactly...i at least want to understand whether all from a remote location who are given a waiver are later invited for a phone interview or only a few 'whose application they want to take forward' ?...if not, then what percentage of those are admitted....no matter how many times they say that waivers are not a disadvantage, I find it hard to believe unless i get specific figures...
your question has two parts. this is what i think about the first part: 100 indian/chinese students apply. they schedule 40 (hypothetically) interviews upfront, cos thats how much their alums can manage. rest 60 get waivers. their apps get read, and i'd GUESS 40 of these 60 get interview invites.
the other 20 are regarded as bottom 20% of this dominant app pool and go the ding way. This leads me to believe that Kellogg interviews 99% of total applicants.
the second part is where im intrigued. im not worried about the first lot of 40 interviews- they form a part of the larger pool of applicants who are interviewed anyway. of the second lot of 40 interviews (lets call them shortlisted candidates), how many get accepted is the question.
