Just 2 days left for the decisions! Anyone getting anxious?

Looking at previous trends Kellogg is likely call admits on decision day i.e. March 22nd. Good luck everyone!

Not anymore. I have thought about what may happen after each scenario and played it in my head multiple times. With the help of meditation, I am at that stage where I don't care much about either scenario.

I am already at peace. 8-) :-D

Hi,

Round 2 decisions are released on Wednesday 3/22 as we know. I was wondering if anyone knows what time the decisions typically come in? Early? Late? 5PM central?

Thanks.

I imagine they will come before the end of day Central time- likely to hit around noon- give or take a few hours and how smoothly things are going from the inside. I would check the chat rooms to see when people start posting news and you will know when things are starting to release. Best wishes to you!

Thanks.

Confirming what Donna said. I've found noon in the relevant time zone has been the case 90% of the time for US schools.

They called me at 1:50 central time. I got an email at 3:20pm. Your mileage may vary. I luckily was traveling that day because I thought the calls would be in the late morning. So if it's afternoon, don't panic!

Admit calls happen throughout the day which makes it all the more stressful... I would assume they start at 9AM CST and then are finished by around 3 or 4PM CST (which is when I got the application update notice saying I was waitlisted). Not looking forward to sitting through that again.

So they typically call all of the admitted students? I didn't realize that!

Just adding my two cents that I think in this situation is it not worth it to retake the GMAT -- that is not what will differentiate you once you've already achieved a 750. You've proven you can handle their curriculum -- now what ELSE do you bring to the table that will actually help your fellow students learn something? That's where your focus should be.

It's not necessarily a completely new job, either. It could be taking on more responsibility or taking initiative in your current role, getting a promotion, or deepening your extracurricular/community involvement. If you don't have any community work to speak to right now, that would be an area to definitely focus on.

Reach out to current students in clubs you're interested in, talk to more alumni, etc.

These are all productive things to do instead.

Best of luck -- hope that helps!

How many Indian students waiting on Kellogg R2?

Also, What are some good Strategies to get off the waitlist?
Will it help to increase score from 750 to 780?
What about a new job?

Looking back on the application process, I think 750 is insufficient to make the GMAT score stand out for Indian students. I see 770 as a score that gives you an edge, assuming other parts of the application are similar. Since applicants are compared to others with similar profiles, if you have an opportunity to increase your score by at least 20 points, I say go for it. A new job will always help.

I think working on GMAT even after you've scored 740 or above is solving the wrong problem. I've no source to know what ad-coms would think though. If you can make a case about why you needed a better score - may be because of a personal goal- may be that could work.

Thanks so much Erika.

I think I may have run my course - my app was as strong as it can be - i honestly don't think I can improve along any of the lines you mentions - all checks :/

It maybe a round 1 vs round 2 thing - but I'm thinking I'll just take what I get this round - no more admissions cycle for me :)

You'll get a phone call sometime before 3 or 4ish PM CDT if you're accepted. If not you'll get an email saying there has been an update to your application. I got my waitlist notice at 3:28PM during R1.

From what I've seen in other threads, yes, they will call international applicants as well (during the same time window which I assume is probably the middle of the night for many).

Calls started going out very early central time for international admits. Example: https://twitter.com/DeanZ_Kellogg/statu ... 5838678017

I'm on the east coast and received my call around 9am.
