Guys,

All those who have interviewed, do you guys mind sharing your experiences? How was the interview like? What kind of questions were asked?

I've heard from people in the past that Kellogg interview can be a grilling interview at times. Did anyone experience that?

Any input will really help.

Nah, I just did my alumni interview for R2 last week, here in SoCal. It was extremely laid back and relaxed. It was the standard questions that someone else mentioned. Nothing off the wall.

I'm a nontraditional applicant new to b-school type interviews. Kellogg was my first.

The set of questions seemed pretty standard, but I was surprised by how many behavioral questions he asked. I expected 5 at most (in addition to Why MBA, Why Kellogg, etc), and I was running out of material when he got to 8. I was also surprised that he kept saying prompting me to ask more questions at the end, after I had already asked 4 or 5 nuanced, detailed questions about his experience. He didn't seem to want to get a conversation going. It was more "Question, answer, next question." No real back and forth.

Maybe this was just me being new to all this, I don't know. YMMV. Still feel like I got a B- on the interview, so it wasn't a total disaster.

You didn't get a business card? I'd recommend calling the admissions office and asking for your interviewer's contact info.

No, skype interview. And I dont even know the interviewer's last name.

Isn't it enought that we shared pleasantries at the end of the call? I dont want to bother the adcom - they must be burning the midnight oil these days

You can probably drop a thank you note to adcom and request them to convey the same to interviewer mentioning you do not have his contact details or you can definitely ask adcom for his details so you can send it urself.

I have done first though in my experience!!

In case this helps anyone else in the coming weeks I just wanted to say that if you don't get your adcom interviewer's direct email address, it's fine to send the message to the general adcom address that you should have from your interview invite. In the subject line just put: Attention: INTERVIEWER's NAME, Thank You

For alumni interviews everyone would have their alum's email address in the first place in order to set up a time/place for the chat.

Good luck, everyone!

I didn't find that at all. I interviewed on campus with an adcom in R1 and found her incredibly friendly and engaging. She was also an alum of the program and shared many of her own experiences. The questions were very standard; they do probe and ask follow-up questions so be sure to have examples and experiences on-hand. Honestly the best advice I can give is to relax and enjoy it as much as possible!

I emailed my interviewer last weekend and have yet to hear back. Does anyone have a recommendation on if its better to ping the interviewer again or reach out to the Kellogg Admission Alumni Organizer who gave me their contact info in the first place?

I heard during my interview from the interviewer that international applicants hear their final decision a week after deadline.Apparently deadline is for US based students. Is that really true?

Not true....everyone receives their decision on the decision date. If you don't receive a call, your status will still update in the portal by end of day.

Any chance decisions can come early?

In R1 they called admits on the decision day (Dec. 14). After your interview, it is out of your hands!

Stay busy. It will get even harder in March ;)
