What actually been told to me is look for B schools that are willing to offer good scholarships. A loan of USD 200K+ will haunt you for long time if things do not go exactly as planned.
Yes

Unless you join mbb or ib that sort of loan takes time to pay off

200 is the new 500
HBS also has 200.

No one is interested to read “once upon a time...”
We’re interested to read your stories but in the recent times, use of chatgpt has clearly made it too obvious to all application readers. Goal is to see the true crux of the story than the entirety of it from the start to end

Btw, i didn’t get a scholarship at Ross and quite a few Ross students are advising against it.
I didn’t get any scholarship when I joined Ross in 2023. Three years later, I’m doing great and looking back would do it again. Whereas there were people who came in with a full ride and walked away zero outcomes. I totally agree that tuition free at all these business schools is pretty nuts, but if you compare that with what you can get in return by making the most of this opportunity, it makes a world of difference.

Yes internationals get private loans at 12 to 14% interest rate for example so that 200k becomes 250k by graduation and you need top class jobs or h-1b to repay
This is correct partially. Majority of international students who put in the effort and didn’t come in thinking it’s gonna be a 2 year vacation ended on the right side of outcomes.

As for the interest rates, all of us refinanced loans to sub 6% pay post joining full time.

Yeah if you get job and h1b its not an issue you can get loan refinanced majority have good outcomes from top schools for sure. If youre in the minority only then is it issue

The full rides didnt influence the outcomes though its just less stress for those ppl several with scholarships woupd have done well also. At the end of the day upto person and their risk appettite

Agree, I think its too risky without scholarship and I think that's the schools idea also as they gave a lot of students scholarships
Wish there was clear breakdown of this data not that it matters to individual applicant outcome but it would help in deciding which schools to apply to for internarionals most just give broad ranges like 70% of admitts received some scholarship which really isnt helpful

I dont have that memorized sadly but you can check their MBA program sites they have such data normally but again awards range from 10k to full ride and you dont really know the breakdown of it

Thing is, there might be colleges that give scholarships to more than 70% of the students

But, you need to build leverage
Meaning, if you score is within their averages or your profile matches their class, you won't get any scholarship
Or 10-20k at the most

I don’t see them mentioning the percent of people who have received a school

I get it. I just don’t think any school within t15 gives scholarships to 70 percent admits.
