I read another post that said last year "most but not all" of the invites went out in the first group. When I talked to Admissions they said it would be rolling interview invites. But the interviews are around Super Bowl weekend. My guess would be that all invites would be sent out at least a week before.

I got my interview invite email yesterday! (I applied through Sloan) I hope to see you guys there.

I have some travel that I don't think I can get out of over the weekend. Do you know if not attending the InterviewFest activities puts me at a disadvantage for admissions? I know that I would be missing out on an opportunity to experience LGO life and interact with current students.

Does anyone know the typical ratio of interviewees to admits at LGO?

First - Congratulations!

I do not know whether attendance at InterviewFest activities bares any weight on admission decisions, though I doubt it. However, I certainly agree with you that it would benefit us, as the applicants, to expose ourselves to the LGO culture as much as possible.

I attended the MIT Sloan on the Road for Veterans event in San Diego last year. The main speaker was part of the admissions committee for Sloan and spoke on both the MBA and LGO Programs. She said that the LGO Fellow selection process filtered approximately 100 applicants for interviews each year. I also read previous year message boards in this forum, which stated 120 interviewees. Based on these sources, and the knowledge that typical LGO class size is 50, the admittance rate of interviewees falls between 41-50%

I've asked few international LGO alums in regards to their interview invi dates, and they got theirs on early to late February.
None of them were invited to the interviewfest, but they still got in.

I was hoping that my invi would come earlier this week but...
There is still hope! :P

So the application status online will not change at all until you actually receive a decision letter (my experience from last year after being dinged post-interview).

Interviewfest has a lot of activities, but most of the admissions committee is locked up in the interviews all day up in the LGO office space which is adjacent to the LGO lounge, so don't expect to be gaining any extra brownie points with interviewers at the events haha. Though, there will be non-interviewing members that will be around. For example, last year, Don, the previous head of LGO that retired, was mingling with prospective students, as was Jane D (admissions director) - they were not interviewers but I am pretty positive they sat on the committee when it came time to make decisions.

For those without interview invites yet - don't fret! They may not be finished evaluating everyone completely. For example, if you are "on the bubble", they are probably keeping you around and are going to see what happens with interviewfest, so don't lose hope. Immediately after interviewfest, they will have a good general impression if they need to send more invites out or not before individual decisions are even made.

Best of luck to you all. For me, hopefully second time is the charm, or else I guess I'll be back here next year!

Make sure you are looking for this name not only at LGO admissions but also at MIT Sloan admissions. I was interviewed by a MIT Sloan admissions team member. When I searched for Diane a name showed up, she could be Even on the M finance course admission team member
