I'm also still waiting! Based on last year's forum, it looked like some round1 applicants received WL/deferral notifications the same time (mid-dec) that others received their interviews invites/dings. If that's to be our fate, I'm surprised they didn't do the same this year.

Dear BookWorm, FeatherTouch, Infiniti777 & all others with NO intimation of their R1 status ....

I have a hunch .... I may be totally wrong & my theory is based on zilch(!) history,

.....But seeing that some of u have NOT been given any intimation and also going by the fact that they have received the R2 appls about 3 weeks back, maybe they are trying to see the "whole picture" ....
I mean, they have got almost 95%(R1+R2) of the applicant pool infront of them so maybe depending on the strength of the R2 applications, they may offer u an interview (very likely), a direct invite ( just a tad unlikely) or a waitlist ....

The good thing about this I feel is that they have definitely liked your applications and are maybe going to take ur decisions along with the R2 interview cases! And probably let u know ur status just before the interview invites for R2 are sent out.

Just my speculation though! Best of Luck :)

Random thought: Last year's "Calling all MIT Sloan" thread had sooooo much less activity than this year. We are already on 80 pages and R1 decisions haven't even come out! (Last year R1 decisions started coming out on pg. 31). At this pace, we'll easily hit 150 pages, when last year had 45 total. What is that a function of?? More hype about MIT Sloan? More applicants? Or just more people finding the forum?

Thoughts?

Interesting observation. I see it as a function of 2 dimensions (one major one minor), 1) Major: Proportional to the growing GmatClub community and the willingness of members to be more active/post more; 2) Minor: Overall pool of MBA applicants gets bigger every year.

Is it appropriate to write them a polite email inquiring about the results prior to Jan 31? Or will they think that I am just pestering them.. I had a R1 interview in Dec and have been waiting for too long since

I'd call them instead. You can call and ask if "it's ok to do so" without having to state your name. That way, even they think you're pestering, they won't be able to track it by to your application.

Agreed. The majority of the calls will go out on the 31st, and a few might go out this Saturday (29th) if last year is any indication.
