Congrats

You're talking the link in your acceptance letter? That's working? What are you using for your username and password? I tried using my application username and the PIN in my acceptance letter, as well as various combinations of things that I hoped would work, and nothing did.

Is there any international students around, who got off the WL in previous years? Any insight would be welcome.

Hard luck mate.

In case it's useful for you, there's a R1 Waitlist Chat Transcript with a bit of info on this topic at https://mitsloan.mit.edu/mba/pdf/WL_Chat ... t_2-11.pdf

Quote:
Q: Do you make any special effort to give a definite (i.e. admit/ding) answer to international students at a reasonable time to accommodate for their relocation to the US (visa requirements, etc.)?
A: Yes, international candidates can realistically only wait until about end of June and we are aware of this.

One other important point is that the deadline for R2 candidates to reply is mid-May, so you could expect a glut of WL responses then.

I have to take a Principles of Economics course (microeconomics) and get an A prior to matriculating.

HBS by far man. No question about it. Can't pass up the Harvard brand name.

Congrats on your acceptances! :-D I'm in at sloan, waitlisted then dinged at kellogg, interested in strategy consulting also. If I had gotten Kellogg, I would have gone there. I liked the selection of classes and that you can take more and a variety with the quarter system. Also, students travel more for consulting projects, which is awesome. Both will be great, but I would have gone with Kellogg. Good luck!

Current Sloan student here (2012). If you are having trouble deciding between MIT and school X and would like an additional (and honest) perspective drop me a message.
