I have a Sloan Q, is there anything we can do to improve our candidacy for scholarships? Like if we have updates that weren't in our application or interview?

Is this email different from the one talking about making your deposit, loans and that scholarships will be handed out in 2-3 weeks? Seemed a bit general.

Did everyone get the MIT Sloan admit biz cards? They were adorable! Not sure if they were only for women since it came in a SWIM case.

Has adcomm emailed all your recommenders urging them to "urge" you to enroll at MIT? Seems as though they're really going the extra mile for admits, or do all schools do that?

I just attended the admit chat with two admissions officers and they said that we will receive an email from Rod Garcia indicating if you received a scholarship before May 2nd.

Just received a Ding! Anyone else? I was pretty surprised as I thought MIT usually don't ding WL'd candidates until at least well into the summer.

Mmm. Hopefully they haven't gone out yet. but this thread is sort of inactive now that admissions decisions have gone out. Maybe we should try the admit group for these sort of questions.

I called midday on Monday and they said scholarships were going out this week but later that day I got an email from Rod. I have been awarded the Dean's Fellowship for half-tuition. I don't know if this means all the scholarships have gone out already though. Good luck!

hmm... last I heard was that award announcements would go out by May 2nd, but now I'm wondering if they extended that to "this week" based on what they told you... Thanks for replying and congrats on your scholarship KD2010

Interesting stat from the Admit weekend last weekend - 60% of Admits said that they used gmatclub.com for admissions gossip*. We must have a lot of lurkers!

(*based on a wholly unscientific 'for fun' survey of everyone attending the Admit weekend)

Hello Everyone,

This is a kind of a shot in the dark, but:

I am planning a visit to MIT Sloan next Monday (6/20/11), and I will be in town until Tues evening (6/21/11).

I'd love for the chance to treat you to coffee and/or beer and chat with you about Sloan during my visit. Don't matter if you are just admitted, currently enrolled, or an alum - I have plenty of questions for any category.

I have a quick question regarding MIT Sloan, and hope you can help me with.

I received an email from Sloan saying they have identified me as a "strong candidate" and encouraged me to apply. Do you guys know if this is just a Marketing technique?
