Got an invite! Two invites today! Applied on 1/15.

Congrats! What time did your email come through?

Also - did the email say "Invitation to Interview" or "Update to your application"?

Subject is NYU Stern Invitation to Interview

Hi guys, just to share - international applicant here, applied on 15 Jan and just received an invitation to interview today at 4pm (EST). Is it really not advisable to request for a Skype interview if making a trip to campus may be rather challenging?

Do you mind sharing the on-campus interview dates?

Sure, GMAT 760 and 7+ years working experience mainly in the public sector.

As for the interview dates, they're mainly during the first 3 weeks of March (daily on weekdays).

I'm happy to see a lot of you getting interview invites. I just updated my Stern interview question guide which should be helpful in preparing you.

Have any Consortium applicants from R3 (Jan 15th) received invitations? I have not heard anything from Stern yet, other than a confirmation e-mail that they have received my application.

And here is a somewhat surprising ding in the mailbox.
11/15 applicant, interviewed on 1/21.

Well, moving on.

Sorry to hear that. How did you feel the interview went?

Waitlist w/o interview. As an applicant with a low GMAT score (650 Q42/V38), I was actually expecting a ding. I suppose giving the GMAT another shot would be ideal but I have never gotten over a 650 in a practice test. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You are right, better than a ding. Raising the GMAT will help quite a bit - I see that your Quant is a little lower - have you tried the GMATclub tests? I frequently found myself at Q44, before purchasing the gmatclub tests (doing those tough problems) and saw my score rise to Q48. I thought I was screwing up on the test as the questions seemed too easy, so I know those tests really helped! A few more questions for you to get correct and you will be closer to 700.

Are you also a R3 applicant?

In my own debreif I tried to explain good tips that can be valuable for reapplicants:

from-460-diagnostic-test-to-690-fist-time-to-740-q-49-v42-189244.html

Hope this helps.

Nope, I'm a R2 applicant. I actually haven't tried the GMATclub tests - primarily used Manhattan GMAT tests. I've heard good things, especially for quant so I should probably look into that. Thanks so much!

I applied 1/15 and sent Stern a physical item for the optional essay. I received initial confirmation of recommendations, payment, etc., but I have yet to receive a follow-up with the password to check my status. Stern claims this would be sent out in 2-3 weeks, but today brings it past 4.

Anyone else have this issue? I have yet to receive a response from the adcom (I'm sure they are plenty busy). Just looking for some feedback whether I should actually start worrying or not haha.

Thanks!
