For those who totally freak out and want the full story like me, what the Stern email is from "NYU Stern Admissions" and the subject is "NYU Stern Admissions." You go to your website and there says that there is a Status Letter at the bottom. Click on that and you find out. Moral of the story is that if you don't get an email that says "Congrats" - DO NOT FREAK OUT.

RFMBA2, I wrote a long post about how you should not worry and decided to check new posts first -- good thing I did lol.

I checked the statuscheck website around 4:30pm EST and saw what RFMBA2 saw. I did this before getting the email at 5:07pm.

Does Stern not even bother calling admitted students?? Kind of disappointing. Literally just got the 'your status has changed' email

First off congratulations!

Most likely you will get a call in the next few days either by the person that interviewed you or an student ambassador. Look at it this way, would you rather wait another few days to find out with a phone call or get the results now? I personally liked the email, followed up by a call.

Congratulations to everyone that got in today! As far as Stern calling admitted students, to echo Salaryman, I got a congratulatory call from the admissions person that interviewed me about an hour after I received the "status change" email. Then, a few weeks later, a 2nd year student with similar career interests followed up with another phone call to see if they could answer any questions about Stern.

Congrats to all the applicants! I have to say I'm kicking myself now. I applied through the consortium r1. Got the interview invite around dec 20 and was offered to interview during the minority weekend, so I decided to do so. Only issue is that weekend is not till the end of feb! Though my process is stalled, the wait is still killing me! Nonetheless it's nice to hear so many people with favorable outcomes!

I can't log into the admitted student site...I'm using the same password as the one used to check my app status. Anyone else having this issue? FYI Admissions is closed today due to the snow storm last night, so I couldn't call to ask. Also means likely no decisions will go out today!

I know this has been mentioned before, but thought I would bring it up again.

For those wanting to kill time, if you go to YouTube and type in "Stern Essay 3" you will see a bunch of submissions from 2011 applicants. Some good, some not quite polished, but regardless they're interesting to watch.

Also, for those who are already accepted, you may get a preview of your future classmates!

M a R2 applicant. figured from last yrs thread tht the R2 invitations were sent out as late as March end.. Just wanted to find out if it is true for internationals as well??? I mean Stern is going to conduct interviews in India/China in March and so they must send invites by Feb end.. I have not seen more than 1 Indian (based out of India) applicants from R1 who are invited for interview... Can someone plz share if it is possible to at least guess the number of applicants from Asia being invited for interview????
