Thanks for your help!

Stern is definitely one of my top 5 universities, simply because of its strong Finance background!!

About the rolling bit, I thought Stern Does have rolling applications. I found this link which was speaking about stern:

https://businessmajors.about.com/od/admi ... erview.htm

Here they talk about International Students and recommend Dec 1. Im worried that Dec 15 will be too late. I really dont want to rush my application.

Dude, that interview is waaaay outdated. I would refer primarily to the Stern admissions website for info: https://www.stern.nyu.edu/AcademicProgra ... /index.htm

They have rolling notifications, so they send out notifications once an application has been reviewed, but they unequivocally don't review received applications prior to the relevant deadline. Some are of the opinion that submitting prior to the deadline will result in your application being reviewed earlier than if you had submitted on the deadline, which is why I said Jan 8th is latest it might make a difference, but in any event it won't be reviewed prior to the deadline.

There has been some discussion of this issue earlier in this thread, you might want to browse through from the beginning.

Thats some good info. Thanks. Gives me decent time to prepare. So sitting on the fence a bit. U'd go for it?

If you can have a solid app prepared by Jan 15, I would definitely go for it if I was in your shoes. The wording on their website wouldn't dissuade me:

"International applicants:

You are encouraged to apply by the November 15 deadline to facilitate visa arrangements and to have priority consideration for off-site interviews, if desired. You may also apply for the January 15 and March 15 deadlines."

They're clearly open to internationals applying in R2 -- go for it! I'll meet you in Sosnoff lounge for a coffee in August ;)

I finally got the status check email last night. I submitted my application at about 11:30 pm on the deadline day, so if chronological order of submit date has anything to do with it then most of us should be getting the email soon.

brainhurt, just noticed you in this thread too. Hopefully, Stern is kinder to me than CBS. =)

Well, I might not go that far... it's an excellent school with a great reputation, and I would have been very happy to go there. However, I really connected with the Stern community whereas I didn't with CBS.

This is entirely subjective. One might feel a connection with nyu and not CBS, possibly making that one perceive CBS people as snobbish. However the vice-versa could also be true and think NYU people are snobbish. The most important thing is to gauge your own fit by engaging a large enough sample size from each community.

Or, maybe from the perspective of an applicant, any school that does not accept him or her is objectively snobbish. :-D

Kidding aside, I agree with you that matters of business school "fit" and "culture" are at least partially subjective, depending on what an applicant's background and personality is like, as well as which aspects of a community he or she has engaged in. Let's hope that NYU is not "snobbish" to us!

I am planning to apply to STERN in round two.
I'm preparing essays right now, and taking GMAT on November 30th.

Question is: is it possible to submit another GMAT score that I would be taking next month as an additional information?

You just have to check the website: https://www.stern.nyu.edu/AcademicProgra ... /index.htm

NYU Stern Admissions
If you plan to retake the GMAT or GRE after applying, please inform the Admissions Committee of the date you intend to take the test in Essay 4. If you indicate in Essay 4 that you will retake the GMAT or GRE, the Admissions Committee will make your application incomplete and will not review your application until the new score is received by NYU Stern. Please note that incomplete applications may not receive initial notification by the notification deadline. While we make every effort to wait for new scores, the Admissions Committee reserves the right to make an admission decision prior to receiving additional test scores.

looks like coaks is MIA... I've updated the roll-call.. 51 apps in R1! I've had to move my app to R2 due to an over-ambitious project for Essay 3.. good luck with interview invites for all R1 applicants!
