How do you got about sending in a new recommendation? Do you send it in through email or on your initial application?

Through the same email that they give you for sending updates.

Where do you get a blank recommendation form from or do you just email the person the 4 questions that NYU asks them to complete?

I emailed the person a copy of the form, which you can find at: https://w4.stern.nyu.edu/emplibrary/Reco ... 20Form.pdf, but I don't know how strictly it needs to adhere to those questions, given that this is an extra recommendation.

I actually didn't have the extra recommender use the form - rather had it emphasize new angles and activities that I thought could bolster my overall application. Since this is an extra rec, might as well use it to your advantage as much as possible.

Has anyone asked another recommender to send in a recommendation letter? If so, does it show up on your application status page?

I sent in an additional essay a month ago and the recommender I asked sent in his last week. The receipt information of the additional essay showed up after 3 business days on my status page. However, regarding my recommender's recommendation letter, it's been over 1 week since he sent in the letter and it's still missing on my status page. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Very similar. I wrote a letter several weeks ago, and got two emails (1st was automated, 2nd informed me that the letter had been added to my file). I also had an additional recommender send a letter, which happened about a week ago, and I have no confirmation of that. Neither of these appear on my status page.

On the Stern thread they were mentioned to be sometime after the Admit weekend, ~late April, and this is for both R1 and R2. So maybe that's as long as we have to wait before there is some movement here. I wonder how many of those who checked in here in January are still waiting...

The exact date I'm told is 4/25, $2000.
Hopefully once they don't receive deposits from people that week, they'll work on the wait listers.

I got my first (and maybe only) admit yesterday, with a pretty significant $$ offer and Forte' Fellowship, at a school that I really love but has the disadvantage of being away from NYC (which matters to me for personal reasons). I'm wondering whether I should tell Stern, and whether it would make any difference. Opinions?

Congrats on Tepper! It seems that admissions consultants say you shouldn't play schools off of each other (e.g., Linda Abraham's "9 Wait List Mistakes to Avoid"). There's some discussion in this thread: the-waitlist-dilemma-what-to-do-nice-article-43653.html Some would suggest that you should give your deposit to Tepper, and then if NYU subsequently accepts you (and you prefer NYU) then you just eat the deposit and go to NYU.

I don't really get this though. This is business school, and it's a business. IMO don't pressure NYU prematurely, but when it is getting closer to your Tepper deposit deadline I think it makes perfect sense to call them up and be honest about your situation. Given how slow NYU was to move people from the WL last year, you'll probably have to make a decision before you hear from them anyway.

That's great news! I think you should write a follow-up letter. Discuss your situation politely and then discuss what you have been doing in the meantime (things that have strengthed your profile). And then discuss why NYU Stern again. Something like that. Wouldn't hurt! What do you have to lose! I mean, your in somewhere anyways! Good luck

Just added to the WL yesterday. I applied R2. After reading this forum it looks like I should prepare for the long haul. I appreciate the advice I've read so far, any admits off this forum from R1?

As far as I'm aware, no R1 WL movement yet.
