How often should we communicate are continued interest in NYU? Is an e-mail every hour too much? :-D

I've heard about every 4 weeks. If something significant comes up but then you should probably update right away.

Yes - you have to get an interview to be admitted.

What about those waitlisters that they've accepted just shortly before class starts. I'm sure there are exceptions. Especially if you get admitted during the first week of the school year.

Count me in for a waitlist. Guess this list is going to be long.

So hopefully all you people going to Harvard, and not enrolling at Stern, can make room for me. Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys,

Any idea on the timeline by which the WLs get to know their status? I'm guessing the process starts at the time of considering Round 2 applicants and goes on till right before classes start.

Also, any thoughts on how international WLs are treated would be gretly appreciated. I am a WL candidate from India.

Thanks.

I'm not a 100% sure, but I've heard that NYU really worries about yield and can let waitlisters know any time between March and August. There are some stories about people finding out the week before classes, though, my understanding is that internationals will know sooner.

None for me. Does anyone know how this waitlist process work? Do they evaluate us on a weekly or monthly basis? Do they ding people regularly off the waitlist? Not sure. This process isn't so transparent.

I just sent them my letter today. I'm worried that I took too long, but when I first got on the waitlist I was too busy and exhausted to put something meaningful together, so maybe it was better to wait.

From the main Stern thread, it looks like they're mostly still giving out R1 acceptances, so I doubt we'll hear anything until people in R2 start to be interviewed, and R1 admits start either enrolling or withdrawing.

You're not alone, I'm sending in my letter today or tomorrow. I don't think the timing is an issue, I don't expect any wait list movement for a little while. And as you point out, they're still sending out r1 acceptances, so it's going to take some time before people with offers make decisions.
